    My original question

    Anyone want to tell me about Pearland, TX? Applied for a job with the parks department a while ago and apparently they are processing my background ... i see its right outside of houston and i heard houston has become a shithole ever since katrina happened because of all the New Orleans refugees. Not trying to talk any shit just wanted to see what the locals take on it is.

    I live in Littleton, CO now which is basically a suburb of Denver much the same way as he describes Pearland to be. Anyhow, i love colorado (only have lived here since may) but I lost the job I originally moved here for and am getting shit for hours and pay at the new one I have.

    Lots of Pearlanders here. Here's my take on Pearland. One of the best cities on the outskirts of Houston. Live on the east side near Friendswood is the best advice I can give. It's much quieter. The west side near 288 is busy, both in terms of traffic and crime. Much of the crime is from the Houston turds that travel south into Pearland to do their shit. Just north of the westend of Pearland is a shitty area of Houston.

    Cost of living is good in Texas, especially in and around Houston.

    This^ I also live on the same side of Pearland and i love it. I avoid going to the "other side" (by 288) unless i wanna go to Academy or Bass Pro lol. All in all its pretty quiet and is one of the better cities outside of Houston. Good bars too :thumbsup:

    almost as far as the drive was from CA to CO when i moved here in may lol .... at least i know people in austin ... one of my buddies who worked with me at my prior place of employment got cut in july and he cruised down, and my cousin lives there too
