It's not so much a function of traction exactly -- though maybe in some cases -- as much as it is a function of less drag.

So did you mean diameter, or did you mean width all along?

I just got back from Yosemite, I was very impressed with my Michelin LTX A/T2. The last three years I went I slipped and slid with the Rugged Fails, I really liked the LTX's; very impressed.

Really? Was that your goal really trying to understand the question, or were you trying to make him look like an idiot knowing damn well that the height of the tire makes little to no difference in snow traction?

Are you trying to be? Or do I misunderstand?

FWIW you pitched the diamater thing out their first, I think he just went with it as an easy explanation and you keep pushing it.

I have bigger tires, they have more surface area, they're taller, I drag less etc... they're not the end all be all, he just asked a question, to me. I just figured, it meant more or less, do you get stuck? That's how I answered. ... they help but I still get stuck naturally.

They are sold as an e rated at/mt tire with some beefy ass tread which also happen to be snowflake rated..I forgot to put the mt part after the at in the first post...either way. There great in snow and ice.

I wasn't trying to make him look like an idiot at all, I was trying to understand where he was coming from, because I've never heard anyone talk about diameter having any affect on traction before.
FWIW, you did misunderstand, being a jerk is of no benefit to me. And if you look back, Owen asked the diameter question, not me.

Sorry if I offended you guys, guess I asked the questions wrong.

Okay, works for me. My mistake, it wasn't you that asked about diamater, ...some other guy.

I hope you read my posts/explanations then and gleaned whatever you could out of them.

    3-5' maybe at the summits.
Lake level can be measured in inches. We've got maybe 6" in the last 24 hours.
