Are you talking about the rhino rack brand roof racks? I have one and its awesome. Worth it really only if you can snag one cheaper than a Thule or Yakima. I lost a part to one of the towers, called customer support trying to buy a replacement, and a couple days later a free one shows up on my doorstep.

Appreciate it man. And yeah that's where I got mine. I'm always surprised how few people know about promotive. I have noticed some scratches on the inside of the door from it, but I really don't care. A paint pen will hide it. I've carried about 150lbs up there including a big kayak on the highway, no movement at all. Wait for sales at backcountry.com to buy baskets though, since shipping on promotive for those is high. I bought an Inno fairing for it and it looks awesome. Ill post a pic later when I'm at home.

The bars look a little high by themselves without the fairing. The fairing was about $75 and I was stupid enough to buy the "long bolt kit" for $20, which was literally just longer bolts you could get for $3 at Home Depot.

Nice! I have a leer 180 so i'm deciding whether I want the rack on the cap or put it on the roof to even things out...

Yeah I got the cap after the bars. I'm thinking about putting the rhino rack cap rack on as well though. It would be nice to be able to have a basket on the cap and kayaks or bikes on the cab. Just noticed you are fire, btw. Thanks for your service as well. Your job is more dangerous than mine for sure. Good luck with the rack!

On the very front edge of the fairing where it touches the roof of the cab are these tabs just resting or two way tape? Curious how it mounts and also

How is the sound with the fairing. Did you ever run the racks without the fairing?

    Thanks

Those are tabs and the bottom is rubberized to keep the fairing from moving around. It mounts on the front bar in three spots by tightening bolts through a metal board above and below the bar.

The fairing takes away the vast majority of the noise. I don't notice it anymore, since the Taco is a pretty loud vehicle on the highway anyway. I only notice it if theres excessive wind. I ran it for a couple months without the fairing, and it was noticeable only at highway speeds.

I am happy with mine, I like the oval shape and the rubber bead on top is a nice touch. It's pretty rugged and I like the looks of it too. I would rate it ahead of the Thule and Yakima roofracks I've had on other vehicles

I don't use a fairing, the noise doesn't bother me

Is that the Rhino-Rack 2500 Series Base Rack System? Seems a lot easier than buying all of the a la carte items to make it work with Thule/Yakima. I've got ProMotive access as well so this seems like a smokin' deal. Thanks!

Just installed Rhino Rack aero cargo system across the bed rails. I also got them through promotive with the ski rack, such a killer deal. These are fully adjustable. Solid product! Now we just need some snow!

550kawirider, can I ask how you installed to your top bed rails? I like this setup for me because I will be able to still use my roll up soft cover. Thanks in advance!

The bottom of the rail system is held on by 't' bolts. I popped off the plastic bed rail caps, cut the rails to my desired length, and determined where the bolts would land and drilled through both the rail cap and the metal of the bed rail. the rail then slides onto the 't' bolts then gets bolted down and the cross bars slide on. I basically installed it as if i were going to install it on the roof of a vehicle.
