just own a computer controlled carburetor engine. You'll be rolling in all sorts of coal.

Have an RV with the Duramax. Had a F350 with the 7.3. Would love a Tacoma with a diesel.

This is old but if Nissan really goes through with a Cummins option, I think Toyota will have to offer a diesel option. Especially 28MPG combined with 380 lb-ft. Would anyone jump ship for a Cummins option? I would consider it if nissan bumps up their quality and doesn't charge out the nose for the option. Not that Toyota quality is what it used to be.

I just don't like Nissan trucks, I think the Titan is ugly and built almost the cheapest out of full sized trucks. But it's about time someone got around to doing this.

It would be awesome to get a small displacement Cummins in a Taco, but I doubt that will happen.

Toyota will definately follow if it happens.
Same happened with the double cabs. Nobody in the US wanted to offer double cabs on small pick-ups because they said that there was no market for "small crew cabs", even though the rest of the world had it. Nissan started building the double cab Frontier and when it worked Toyota followed the next year (and took over the market;))

As of now 33.68% of 487 vote no to some varying degree, the rest say yes. Just so you don't have to add them up yourself.

^^ As I've said before, you're missing a major point, Max. Nearly all those voting in the diesel polls in this forum already have Tacomas, so their purchase decision obviously wasn't dependent on a diesel option. Lacking clear evidence that a diesel option would INCREASE sales (new buyers), Toyota has no real incentative to go through the expense or effort (especially when overall vehicle sales are down). Run that reality past your dancing smiley. :D

Well, as an example, just look at how many tens of thousands (guests & members) have stopped by this forum since the thread started over two months ago. Only a relative handful of those were interested in diesel enough to even read this thread, much less respond to the poll (with roughly a third of those responding to the poll in favor of diesel offset by those voting firmly against diesel). The other diesel-related polls are similar (largely ignored by most).
