I believe part of what makes this country great is that you can have your own opinion and nobody can tell you otherwise. however, before you put your opinion on a national news website you should at least make sure its an informed one.

For example:"she could tell immediately when a victim entered the emergency room whether they'd been hit by an assault weapon or a handgun"

really? what about normal semi automatic weapons that are not assault weapons. or what about your normal average every day bolt action rifle? there is no way to classify it as an assault weapon vs a normal high powered rifle

And another:"she wants the bullets used today in many semiautomatic weapons to be banned"

Does she know that bullets are not manufactured for semi-auto vs bolt action vs lever action? There is no way to define what a semiautomatic weapon specific bullet is. You can find nearly any caliber weapon in semi, bolt, or lever.

Like I said, I am not here to bash her for having an opinion and stating it, just having an uniformed opinion and putting it on national news. How, as a country, are we supposed to settle the gun control debate unless both sides can have an informed opinion to argue with?

This, and one more misinformed point was, that "assault rifle bullets" are made to explode, when the FACT is the exact OPPOSITE, most are full metal jacketed rounds designed NOT to expand. What a hack.
