I would absolutely lean you towards the TC+2 kit over a 6" kit. Far more functional for just about every style of wheeling especially out here in AZ. The 6" kits do look really good but when it comes to really wheeling they are a very "bling" product. Not to mention that with a 6" kit you will have almost no options outside of entirely custom for skids and you lose the ability to flat bottom the rig.

BDS sells a 1/4" skid with there kits, as mentioned. the rest just have a bling aluminum skid

I am aware however the skid that they include comes off the back of the drop bracket to the trans crossmember which still leaves the entire area in front of the bracket either entirely unprotected or still covered by the flimsy OEM skid and as most of us know the area that usually takes the hardest impacts is right where the skid bends from angled to flat which will be completely unprotected.

I agree with Sierra Expeditions about the TC +2 kit though for good overall use

Theres nothing wrong with a 6" lift. They look absolutely awesome but we have always been a big believer in Function>Form. With the LT kit you will still be taller than your normal 3" lift but you will gain several inches in wheel travel and still have the option to run aftermarket skid plates. You can fit 35s with the proper amount of trimming or Fiberglass and you have the option to add a secondary shock which will help a lot at speed not to mention that you do not have to cut out any major components on your brand new truck.
