ok so after searching for this noise coming from the rear of my truck i have found it, the front second layer eyelet of the leaf is moving side to side on top of the other eyelet. not sure what would cause this to happen but i got new bushings on their way should be here tomorrow. Anyone have any ideas besides getting rid of the j66 and getting a SUA kit bc thats already on my mind haha

Yeah.. links. CORR style 4 bar 4 link, shocks mounted off the axle, or the traditional 3-4 link with the shocks off the trailing arm. Both are 100x better then a leaf setup.

Probably gonna get heat for this & it aint what ya wanna hear, but the J66 is a piece of shit of a spring, & I don't make a habit of slamming products but after working on 3 diff. J66's from 3 diff. members, pretty disappointed how Deaver dropped the ball when their other model# seem ok .

What people don't know about that pack is its not meant for lots of weight. It will sag out super quick. They have the same pack (basically) that is meant for weight and it will stay stout. Can't remember which # it is you just gotta tell em what you'll be doing for weight and they will recommend it to you.. Deaver springs ride great.

Oh, we told them alright (Deaver rep) His reply was, & I quote.. "The people that buy the J66 don't offroad." end quote

WTF is one to make of THAT comment ??

$700 & change for a set of springs that are almost as bad as the stock leafs, glad they weren't mine, cold day in hell before I'd drop that kind of $$ on something that the manufacturer openly admits aren't up to much of any task over stock...

whats the other model number? its only been the j66 since day one for the 2nd gens.

yeah the 66 pack and stock shackles are crap for offroading. but you can only do soo much when toyota makes a shitty design. people want springs, deaver makes them and they work for the 95% of people that dont abuse their trucks offroad . you put any spring into negative arch and its not gonna last long.
the 66 pack lasted me about 3 years, rebuilds 6 months at a time and a lot of custom work. i was never pissed at deaver , i was pissed at toyotas shitty design. thats why defined and deaver sat down and designed a sua pack, its the only way to get a proper leafpack under these 2nd gens

so dont slam deaver , slam toyota for the shitty mounting locations and frame design.
