A little of this and a little of that.
I have a county recycling center that takes stuff like this. I'm sure someone can post a picture of a toilet made into a flower pot. :D

As for me, I installed a heating element for my water dispenser tube on my side by side fridge. Started to freeze up now that the kids aren't getting a glass of water every 20 minutes. Easy peasy. Unplug fridge, wire in element, plug in fridge. I think I did it fast enough that the yogurt is OK to eat...I think.:notsure:

Thanks for the replies guys. Ill have to take a look at the hot water heater and see how I drain it. Guess it would be wise to run a load of dishes and take a shower first to use some of the hot water?

On another note, my dining room project has a new problem. After removing all of the wall paper and cleaning the wall of all dust etc. I was told to prime it before skim coating with spackle that way the drywall is sealed first. But after putting on a coat of primer last night there are some spots where its flaking off. Apparently there was still some wall paper or loose drywall paper/tape that flaked off with the roller. Anyone have any advise? A guy at work said to lightly sand those areas and then put a thin coat of spackle on them. Then when it's dry I can skim coat the whole wall. I'm wondering if I can just start skim coating now, and also I'm wondering if the spackle will stick where there's stuff flaking off.

... Really wish I'd just ripped out all the old drywall.

Is it the primer itself that's flaking or the actual drywall paper? Maybe you have glue residue on the wall from pulling the wall paper? If it's the drywall, you should be good with just putting spackle on it. If it's thin wall paper/glue, try the DIF solution from Home Depot (get the concentrate, not the gel). Mix a cap-full with 1/2 gallon of water and apply it with a sponge. It should come right off. You might have to let it soak in for a few minutes. Then primer again over it.

This was my solution to the skinny drawers issue. It's not perfectly straight but it does the job. Removable to replace the liner at the bottom.

Put wheels, handlebars, and an engine on it and turn it into a motorized toilet.

Or use it for target practice

    1) yes, get your shower out of the way before draining the water heater, ...it takes a while to heat back up after it is refilled.... ;)

    2) i had a similar thing happen when i painted the walls in my garage... i scraped any loosened stuff off w/ putty/drywall knives, ...then re-primered, then re-applied joint compound to smooth out the imperfections, primed over those after drying... in some places i had to do this procedure a couple of times... i also learned that the joint compound that comes in the large buckets is much better to work with (and performs better) than the stuff in the small containers on the shelf...

You have any close ups of the tile? Which tile did you use?

I'll get one today...Going back to work grout in about 2 hours

I'm just the "skilled" labor on the project. Someone else picked materials and paid for it. I think it's a darker grout tho. These are 3/16ths lines...You can use a fine sand grout and go smaller but the the tile store folks steered our purchasing guys away from it, saying the are harder to run and "don't look as good."
I'm not sure how this will turn out, but I'll be sure to put up photos of the final results. Should end up looking kinda like a bar....

Thanks. I looked at the hot water heater last night and it looks easy to drain with a garden hose.
I'm going to work on the dining room tonight and ill see what happens where it's flaking. I wish I could've worked on it last night but I had to celebrate my girlfriend and my 1 year anniversary since we met on a blind date... She doesn't seem to understand the importance of finishing this project :D I'd rather just get it finished and celebrate when it's done.

Make sure to turn of the power to a domestic HWT if you are draining it

Not sure if that was mentioned earlier
