anybody have experience with the ruger american rifle?
i'm leaning more towards it because it has a detachable box mag, and the remmy 700's don't, and its half the price allowing for more $$ for glass and ammo, when i get a bolt rifle it'll be in 308.

    I know!!

I was going to wait but Dicks was threatening to clear their shelves and they are 30% cheaper than anyone else around so it kind of pushed up the schedule  The shelves were pretty bare, the guy said he's sold more guns in the last 48 hours than he had in the last 6 months. I got the last 535 they had.

Well, I've fired a few guns in my years but this is the first one I can call my own :D

Here's my Mossberg 535 Combo. It's got a 22" turkey barrel and 28" field barrel.

I'm on the fence about the camo actually. I have concerns about finish durability but we'll see how it goes. It was the only 535 combo they had left that had the barrel options that I wanted. Right, wrong or indifferent, I was originally going to get a rifled barrel in the combo but a co-worker talked me out of it. I still might pick one up at some point, I'll see how accurately this one shoots rifled slugs first though.

I can't wait to break it in :goingcrazy:

Those things are crazy money! I want to see if I can get semi-accurate with a rifled slug and, if so, I won't bother with the rifled barrel. I'll mostly be shooting buck shot and bird shot anyways so the sabots aren't a huge attraction at the moment. I wouldn't shoot them for hunting around here anyways.

You guys with suppressors, what is a good 22 pistol to suppress? I've been lookin at the ruger with the threaded barrel, I've seen some buck marks with em and others but the ruger looks pretty simple. Prob gonna pick it up next week sometime?

I got the buckmark over the ruger as I read that the buckmark was easier to break down to clean. they have just as much aftermarket support too. cant go wrong with either one.
