Reading through the posts I saw this. Does anyone know if there is something similar available?

 

It is now. I used to park my camp trailer there but they changed all the rules and require a bunch of insurance stuff now so I just dont bother. Last couple years I've just stayed at my buddies house in the state housing on the refuge, hes a Fish & Game biologist. That was super convenient but he just got transferred to Bishop so we are hunting there more but the drive on a Friday afternoon sucks.

 

There are a few phone apps for the Iphone that have a similar layout and I have seen a couple guys that have retrofitted the FJ cluster to fit on the dash but the easiest bet is just getting a basic lev-o-gauge

I'm in a hammock, a warbonnet blackbird 1.1 double. Winter incubator underquilt from hammockgear and a 20 degree burrow top quilt. For tarps I have a backwoods daydreamer winter dream tarp, and my summer tarp is a much smaller hex.

 

I love the simplicity of my RTT. Like Adam said its just great to be able to set it up in no time and crawl into bed.

 

Thanks! Its a 32" Spot/Flood combo. the reach is phenomenal! Im lame at photography, so i haven't taken any night shots, but i will soon. seriously it turns night into day.

oh and as far as preferred sleeping setup... RTT FTW. Setup time is minimal (literally less than it takes me to throw down my REI 2 man tent.) Keeps you clean warm and dry, up high. Add 15 minutes for zipping on the lower annex, and you've got yourself a HUGE element-proof space to cook, change, sleep, chill... etc. Can't be beat IMO

 

picked up a Yakima Mega Warrior + Extension today. Need to make some mounts as it didn't come with any. Now for a over the cab RTT like ffdawson!

Overlanding describes self-reliant adventure travel to remote destinations where the journey is the primary goal.
