Meh, meth is overrated imo. Unless you're just drag racing or roll racing, not other use really. And if it runs out at wide open...[IMG]

Pay the money to get a good intercooler like a Griffin, aggressive 93 octane tune and drive it.

That's not entirely true. Rear toe can be off due to the play of the leaf pack centering pin where it sets into the axle. If you have someone follow you, it should be pretty obvious if it's not straight because the back end will be tracking off center from the front end. The way to adjust it is loosen the u-bolts and give the axle a tug in the direction you want it to go in.

When I did my AAL I put both sides together with the ubolts on but lose and then grabbed the axel and shook it to help it center even better then tightened it up. Mind you it was on my buddy's lift but it tracks so nice and straight.

Fords dumb and runs it under the blower. FMIC is kinda pricey for a slim one

Under the blower? The fuck? That may just be even dumber than the the sti/evo top mount intercooler.

FMIC is the way to go if you want reliable power. Power's no good if you can't keep your incoming air/fuel charge cool enough to prevent knock.

Yeah I see what your saying in that sense. but bringing it to an alignment shop they prob wont try to adjust it with out trying to charge for more labor. and at that point will prob try and charge at least another hours worth of labor to get the rear end back inline and not dog track.

I agree, don't have an alignment shop do it, just have someone follow you and tell you if it's tracking straight or not. If not, there's not a ton of adjustment available and you can usually just eyeball it and get it so close you'd never know or feel the difference. The only reason I even mentioned it is because a lot of people think that because it's a solid axle and leaf sprung suspension that there is no adjustment in the rear. 99 times out of 100 you won't have to ever mess with it but if you swap out leaf springs, there's a chance that you could be a little off and not tracking straight so it's good to know how to fix it.

It's not but seems weird doesn't it? For one reason this set up works great thus why ford has not changed it in 10 years. 650Hp stock works damn well

Nice, thanks for the help guys. I was actually planning on taking measurments from somewhere on the frame to the axle before i took the rear end apart but it was hard to get an accurate reading. I think the leaf i took out of the dakars is going back in soon so i will see what i can do. One thing i noticed was on the leaf pack themselves, on the passanger side there was a gap between the second lead and main leaf in the front where the military wrap is, like the main leaf was sitting farther back than it should be. It was tight on the driver side. I loosened the center pin and tried to bang them back together but it didnt really work.

took the wifes controlla to the dealer yesterday to have the 20k mile service done. its free up to 25k so i figured what the fuck right? well i went to a different dealer than usual, and the guy comes out after like an hour and says "you could use a new pollen filter." pollen filter must be their way to make "cabin air filter" seem more serious than it was. he then tells me "thats not covered under the service plan, and it would be $42.50 replace." so i laughed and said no im all set, walked over to their parts counter, and bought the cabin air filter for 20 bucks. WTF? do they think they are making life-long customers by trying to pork us in the ass? pollen air filter? come on guy, thats a bull shit attempt to make 22+ dollars on someone, there is no such thing as a pollen filter. i was so taken back by this that i will never go back to said dealership for anything. fuckers.

rant over. anyone else have experiences like this with POS dealers?

The 22+ was probably labor. This is why I try to do any work myself if I can. Labor is usually worse than the cost of the parts.
