    Didn't the Mayan start their calendar 3000 years prior to their civilization due to the dates relation to a galactic cycle? Wasn't there 26,000 years in the total cycle? I had never heard of anything from their prophecies about an end of the world scenario but a change in frequency or vibrations that earth and it inhabitants would experience.
