So for christmas I am getting my girlfriend tickets to go zip-lining. Unfortunately, this is the kind of gift you buy online and print your ticket out. Sure I could just put the print-out in an envelope or wrap it in a box, but thats no fun. Opening a gift and getting a piece of paper is almost as bad as getting a gift card for someone special. So my question is, how can I make this gift more exciting to open and receive?

Everything is supplied by the company for the actual event, so its not like I can purchase any equipment that will be needed. The only thing to deliver is the printout...

    EDIT: problem #2 solved already

So many tough decisions. And I'm not picking a different gift wither because she has been asking for this for over a year now and has never been, soooo yeah, the gift is for certain.

Thanks for recommendations in advance :D

    Merry Christmas!

put out a trail of clues and have her follow them around the house until she finally finds the gift.

Steel cable from Home Depot?
Tough call on this one. A couple of times SWMBO and I have done this, we've ended up never doing it, so make sure that as soon as she can arrange for time off, you get this scheduled, and make sure to throw in some extra goodies like a nice dinner near the location of the event and maybe even something else... make it a really cool "date night" thing that'll leave her begging you to PIITB.

Thats cute and cheesy lol. She would love it except only 1 problem... we will be doing our Christmas at her place on Christmas eve. So Ill have to go to her house to set this up, and she will be home all day with her family, so no way to set it up without her being there. And her house is really tiny lol

Yeah it will be in Big Bear, and the actual event is only a few hours long in the early morning into lunch time, so after we'll probably go snowboarding or tubing to keep it simple and then have a nice dinner. Walk by the lake, etc.. you know, all the cheesy stuff that girls love

Very helpful bit of info.. Ill have to make sure that makes it into our plans

Dam! she would freakin love that! But Im on dissability with a pretty shitty income of $1100 a month from the state, so sadly this years Christmas budget is limited, and she likes those expensive purses
    Excellent idea... :tumbleweed:

But then what so I actually give her on Christmas day to open then? Just tell her its a surprise and she needs to have a day off before she gets the gift  I guess that would kinda work, but Id have to buy something else just so she actually gets some kind of gift on christmas. But no blindfold... the place is 45 minutes away and up a windy mountain road :puke:

Good idea... 25 years and my wife would get seriously concerned if I blindfolded her for a 45 minute drive.

I figured out my dilemma about picking a day... instead of buying an actual ticket for a specific day, I can purchase a gift certificate good for 1 ticket, that way we can pick a day at anytime after Christmas but its already paid for

Buy her a cheap one, she'll be disappointed until she finds out whats inside. The purse is pretty much a throw away at that point

put it in a little box and put that box in a bigger box, so on and so forth, then put it in a metal cage with locks, cable, and chains, makes it interesting getting in it.

but seriously, put it under her plate and have her pass her plate and she might see it?

But then I tell her look inside and she'll go :woot: :yay:

and I feel like :headbang: :humble:

    I like it! :D

Unless her reaction is like mine when my wife gave me an "experience days" certificate for a day out sailing on the Stars & Stripes.

She spent like $100 on it, I had no interest and that certificate has been on the back corner of my desk for like 8 years.

    The better coast
Buy two picture frames for each ticket and put one in each. Tell her this is where our pictures are going when we get back

Wrap each seperately then combine them into one package

I like this too! This will be great if I cant find a cheap crappy purse. Or if the tickets are small enough like 5x6 then I can put them both in one small frame and but it in the purse to combine the ideas. That would be nice :)
