50 should be fine. I don't think I've seen them close that road before but I could wrong. I'd say go for it Brian. Snow like this is really hard to pass up.

    How's the pup doing?

Mine had to have three cracked teeth removed. She got an abscess from it. We didn't know she had issues, she was eating normal and all. What made me notice was the sudden lump in her face.

She cracked her teeth on a bone from a steak. No more bones for any of my pups!

You'd be wrong. 50 gets closed all the time due to spinouts. We once got stuck at my father-in-law's in SLT on a Sunday. Each time they reopened it, we'd leave to come home. By the time we got to the gate (taking the back roads to bypass the traffic) they'd close it again. We ended up driving around the east side to 80 and coming home.

But Brian, I've never seen both of them closed permanently. And the way this storm seems to be working, one or the other highway is getting dumped on at a time. If one's having problems, take the other one.

Really? I guess I have good timing. I've driven up there many times during the last six years for snowboarding and never had any problems and I've gone on crazy days too. Maybe I'm very lucky.

It just depends on the flat landers and their "invincibility."

do are the roads really that bad right now up at Tahoe? I really want to go but would hate to get stuck by my self in my 2wd truck, even though I never have in snow before. I'll probably go Sunday morning anyway if other people are still thinking about going.

I think it was just timing. Only about an inch or two dropped last night. But since about 8:00 it's been whiteout. I'll have to snowblow my driveway by noon or it will be too tall for my snowblower to handle.

Too lazy to get off the couch.

I wouldn't recommend taking your 2WD unless you go buy at least 4 sacks of concrete for the back of your truck. Something to get some weight on that rear axle or you will be spinning all day. Some good tires help too.

I canceled our reservations and moved em to later in January, at least then I"ll get to hit the slopes again :) I still really wanna go play in this shit though.

Warm pavement under the snow makes it really slick out there. We were slipping and sliding (in the highlander with good snow tires) just going up to the store!ImageUploadedByTapatalk1356205116.698981.jpg

Blew the driveway off. You can't even tell. It's coming down hard now.

I wouldn't even think about going in mine with out some sand or something in the back, had no problem with 4 50lbs sand bags a couple years ago up on Spokane during winter and that was with stick tires, now I have something a little more aggressive.

Hella jealous of the snow, but not of the traffic. Should be a record day for blowouts and accidents as well.

Met up with Dean today to get myself an xmas gift(which is awesome)... Drove from the coast to Rocklin and back. I probably should have just gone the rest of the way to tahoe just for the day! Looks awesome.
