Color temperature has nothing to do with wattage. The 55w ballast will drive any 55w burner. It will also drive a 35w burner but it will shorten the life.

And 15000k is going to be so deeply purple that it's going to be worthless for being able to actually see with.
    Anything over 6000k is "ricer"

You should reconsider getting another temp besides 15000k, because you will see all but 5 feet in front of you while you are driving.... When it comes to lights, Function over looks.

I found a company that 15000k is a deep blue. Then 30000k is purple. That is what the description and sample pics showed. Ill look into it more. I like the blue and in my city there's road lights every 12 feet basically. Thanks for the replys.

    Good luck.

Anything over 6000k is also a cop-catcher, especially if you aren't running projectors.

15000k !?!?! that's horrible. There's no point in doing this. You mine as well mount flashlights on your roof cuz they will be brighter and look better than 15000k. Seriously.

i had 8000k...down here they aren't worried that much about them. you see bright purple, bright blue, l.e.d's, hell you can drive with KC lights on. i have used my lightforce lights plenty of times passing cops and they dont do anything. here is the link for the light chart http://ep.yimg.com/ca/I/yhst-31825660550277_2238_90723793

I've seen a number of charts that aren't even close to reality.

well all i know is if they arent what they are advertised as i can always return and get a different kind. they shouldn't have a problem with that since it would be false advertising right? not being cocky or a dick. i appreciate all the help and replies.

Depending on who you buy from, good luck getting hold of them after the purchase.

DDM is infamous for horrible customer support.
Most anything on eBay is simply a drop shipper... somebody is sitting in their home taking orders, forwards a shipping address to their supplier, and it ships out.
    Often the process is automated.

Last time I ordered a set of P&P lights from DDM (2009?) they shipped 8000k instead of the 6000k that I ordered. Never could get them exchanged and it was their mistake.

i heard ddm wasnt that good on life span either. if i cant get a hold of the buy i have a few friends with some ricer cars that i could sell to for more than what i bought them:) haha. as for ebay...i try to stay away and if i do buy it is from top sellers.

not advertisng or anything but im a fan of hidextra. ive ran their lights on all my vehicles for the past 3 hears (4 cars) and never had an issue. their about 60 a pop, their customer service is amazing, always answer first try, always email back in a few hours. on my last kit on my honda they sent me 10k instead of 8, i emailed them because i was at work and couldnt use the phone, they told me theyd ship me a new set of bulbs and i could keep the old ones just incase i needed them. never had a bulb go out either.

as far as the kelvin between brands, ive seen some brands where 6k is a light blue and 6k is a purple, it all depends on the quality of the product.

6000k... the k refers to degrees kelvin, not "kilo"

The difference between the various charts is likely due to wattage.
A 55w ballast will "wash out" burn a lamp slightly closer to 4000k than a 35w ballast will, so a 6000k 35w will absolutely appear slightly more blue than a 6000k 55w... but a 6000k should never appear to be a darker blue and purple is absolutely in the 10,000k+ territory.

    Likewise, a 35w 3000k will appear more yellow than a 55w.

i didnt say anything about kilos or 55w. i was referring to 35w although i didnt say that and i simply forgot to put the "zeros" after the 6 so im confused as if you were trying to correct me or what, but my post made complete sense.

welp...now it is time to decide what brand. right now it is cheaper to just buy the entire kit again and have the extra ballasts just incase. thanks for the replies and help.

Ya... you typed 6k, should have been 6,000k
Easy oversight... even seen suppliers do the same on their web sites.
