Ok so did the lift spindles with my eibachs and .5 and .25 top plate spacers for the lean. Billies on 0. Rear I did the all pro expedition and 1inch block and firestone airbags.

Usually i do the install and i didnt this time took it to a good shop. But a couple weeks later just looking underneath the truck and saw the gap in the driveshaft cover and yoke. So what can I do to fix this now? Is this safe? without unbolting it i tried to wiggle it out or move it forward and it wont budge. so it gave me a little comfort that its secure for now.

heres pics as always. still awaiting 315's.

Looks like the slightest down travel in the rear end and that thing is coming out. I've never really looked inside of it though either. Longer driveshaft needed maybe.

    AP Expedition + 1" block? That's like a 5" lift.

The shop didn't do something stupid like install the leafs backwards, right? Are the rear wheels centered in the wheelwells?

there's probably a lot of things you dont understand... maybe go read a book or something. tacomaworld and 2wd lifts sound like the least of your worries.

^Now now, be nice. It's almost Christmas.

Just check the service manual. Didn't notice this before, but it looks like the PreRunner driveshaft is quite different from the 4x4 model's. The slip joint on PreRunners is at the transmission, whereas on 4x4s it's aft of the carrier bearing and has a bellows. For a PreRunner, this means if there's a change in the driveshaft length (e.g. from the lift), there would be a gap at the cover. Put the truck on jack stands so the rear axle is at full droop. Check if transmission fluid leaks from the joint.

OP never asked for your comment either

OP might want to consider adding a slip yolk at your height? or maybe take out the lift block, maybe someone from the LT section can chime in about the slip yolk

ok cool that was quite helpful... so i think the yoke is out like half an inch. but still enough to bother me a little. I'm going to call tom woods shop maybe they have a suggestion or replacement.

allpro long travel, shackle flip with ome dakars, cruisin offroad bumpers and sliders, 4.88 gears with arb's front and rear, budbuilt skids.
2wd tacomas dont have a a slip joint in the driveshaft, the slip is built into the transmission. so when you add a huge lift the distance from the tranny and rear axle gets longer. so you have 2 options, either get your drive shaft lengthened or get a slip joint installed in your driveshaft. if i were you i would go for the slip joint in the drive shaft.

A Tom Woods one-piece driveshaft would definitely take care of things. It will also address any vibrations that may develop from such high U-joint angles.

BTW, check for fluid leakage with the axle at full droop. The service manual specifies a plug tool if the driveshaft is removed for servicing.
