I can 2nd this. I have a Ruger MKIII. It SUCKS to break down for cleaning. Took me over an hour to get it apart, and 2 days to get it back together due to frustration.

Zastava PAP AK Pistol. 7.62x39 load. Super sturdy from all reviews. Single Shot Exempt and legal registration in Cali... which is a PITA. Drove couple hundred miles to make it happen, and get to do it again to pick it up in 2 weeks. Always wanted one, figured I should pull the trigger and make it happen before it was beyond endangered species due to it's "evil" feautres and nature.

I shoot a lot of steel, at varying distances. Swing away targets for small caliber at closer ranges and heavy steep plates at long range. For a 308 at 100 yds, you will need something 1/2" thick or more to prevent it from just becoming swiss cheese. Nice thing about steel is you get an audible report of impact at longer ranges. Hang a 12"x12"x1/2" piece on 2 chains to keep it from spinning. paint it yellow or orange

Getting it done with old and new.

-1944 German 8mm K98 (WWII) with a 1918 M98 bolt (WWI), every part on it was accepted by a German military inspector and is dead nuts accurate with the iron sights @ 100 yds. Not pictured is the rear sight scope mount and pistol scope for more precise deer killing, and the bayonet for precise deer gutting...

-Beretta Tomcat .32ACP, for everyday carry. I am a skinny dude so anything bigger shows, except in the winter I guess...

These are my only 2 at the time, I will sell a gun or 2 to get a new one or 2 from time to time, but I have a budget now (a wife and kid) and thuss cannot walk into Traderworld and order a .44 DE (twice in 3 years, one got stoled) whenever I want anymore. Gotta cover my credits with my debits nowadays.

Love the topic, Tacomas and guns! Now if there was only some titaes...

Looking to trade or sell my Spikes Tactical Complete Lower. Magpul Coyote tan Furniture. I saw on gunbroker.com a few Spikes Tactical complete lowers going for $900 at buy it now pricing. Been offered a Winchester Defender 12 GA with collapsable stock and combat light for it. Would prefer an 870. I'd love to find a decent 1911 too.

Just got an 870 express magnum for Christmas, and I'm really happy with it. I've got one question though, when I turn the gun down and back up, there seems to be the spring in the loading port that you can hear go up and down through the gun. Is this normal? The Mossberg 500 I shot never did that.

It's used, but we took it to a gunsmith and he did a complete rundown on it, so I'm hoping it isn't anything worth worrying about.
