Whereabouts would I feel the driveline vibe?

Occasionally I get one on deceleration at about 10-20..just got the truck in October.

    Just for others to reference:

Mine does not vibe under any type of "normal" accelerating conditions. However, if I really step on from a stop (not enough to burn rubber but pretty close) then I'll get a very very bad shudder during this speed. It will shake the steering wheel and the entire cab will vibe. Its pretty loud too. I can feel it in the peddle and seat as well. It sounds like a wheel is about to fall off  but like I said, this is only when I really gun it like hard enough to redline in first gear. Under normal accelerating conditions (which is about 99.9% of the time) then no shudder.

I should also note I am lifted (1.75") up front with 5100's and have the tsb pack in rear. Stock coils, spindles, uppers, lowers, etc. Only new shocks. Running 265/70/17 BFG AT tires on aftermarket rims, but had the shudder both before and after any modifications of suspension or wheels and tires.

I dropped 1", but I have Dakars with AAL and a shackle flip. About 5" of rear lift total. You may need less.

Best is to get several spacer sizes and dial it in.

Regear was something like $1600 turnkey. If I had a place to tear the truck apart for a couple days to do the swap myself it woulda been like $1200 without diff swap labor.

    Good ol Toyota quality:rolleyes:

I got so many TSB's that "could" of been covered it's a joke. List of issues with these trucks just gets longer and longer.

At least none of us should have to worry that long. After all, our frames will be completely rusted out in a few years anyway.

Does anyone have the full write up for this TSB yet? This thread is getting full of the same shit the other 100 vibe threads have in them.

Well I'll be taking the truck in asap. Tranny mount will be covered since under power train warranty, I already have tsb leaf pack, and the steering dampener is such a small tiny piece it can't possibly cost more than about $20 so I'll just order that and screw it on myself. Its literally 2 screws and your done.

Hmm. For the part #s it says "same" as the previous #s. Am I missing something?

You need to read the harsh ride tsb part numbers. They don't distinguish if you have the harsh ride tsb done or not. Kinda confusing it's not more complete than what it is. The part numbers are not the same as the harsh ride ones.

The new rear springs are the interesting item within this TSB, like Tacomamike said we need to try and dig up some more info on those.

Okay, thank you. I guess I have the "harsh ride" springs. I had the 4-leaf packs installed in early '09 just before my truck went out of the 3 year/36k mile warranty. It was for the "easily bottomed-out suspension" when carrying even light loads.

Sorry for the continual questions, but what's the difference between the two different leaf spring TSBs?

I don't know. Like i said the two spring numbers are different. It would be nice to know the makeup of the two spring sets IE stiffer, spring arc, composition.
I'm very hesitant to go backwards in my spring rate if that is the case but I really don't think that is the situation. When I get ahold of the rep maybe he will give me some more info. Time will tell.
