Long Travel BS Thread

Ok guys..I'm installing my 50t pack tomorrow on my 05 access cab..

I've seen a few other access cabs utilize the stock front hanger..but after my fit up..i can't even get close with lining up the spring perch hole to the center pin of the leaf pack at full compression..

Any advise? Or recommendations?

 

only looks boxed like 1/4 of the way back, not to mention no bumps...

 

what are you doing to the rear hanger? I would need to see the set up. How are you cycling it?

 

I think your thinking of the guys running the defined sua kit i believe those use the stock front hanger. The 50t will need to move both hangers

Hey guys. For those of you running lt with 8" shocks, do you guys use 3" diameter, 18" length and 600-650 lbs spring rate? Gunna buy some springs today.

 

Just use whatever spring it takes to hold the front end up with minimal preload, then use the valving to stiffen it up as needed. This could be anywhere from 450-700lb depending on your setup and how much weight is on the front end.

 

Will an 18'' spring fit on a 8'' coil over with a tapered bottom? I'm planning on putting a 600 pound 18'' spring on my tapered bottom Fox coil overs when I get home, even if I have to use a spring compressor.

Shooting for minimal preload.

 

I ended up buying 18"x3" 600 lbs springs. The 16" ones were WAAAAY to short. I held them up for comparrison and they look like they will fit perfectly.

whatd you end up running with the ebs lowers and your home made uppers? thats something ill be running coming up here in the next month or so. Right now i my spring is a 600 with a tapered plate. just curios since im a 4 banger 2wd as well.

 

FWIW im running a Burg kit with 500lb springs and a tube front bumper. I am also a 2wd 4 cylinder.

I'm running a different front end right now, and I'm a 6 cylinder with a 4x frame so bit heavier with 500 lb over 700, bit too stiff though, going to try a 650 on the lower

 

Yes. I only have 1" of threads showing on the top of the coil. That seems to have me set pretty spot on with the 4" of lift from the spindles.
