Thanks Brian, 4low just getting out of the burried driveway. The rest of my misadventure was in 4hi :)
Not sure of the damages to the truck as it was dark but the idiot came from my right, ran the light making his right turn and nailed me squarely on my right front tire. So hard that it pushed me up over the divide island and onto the oncoming traffic side of the island. His car was damaged pretty badly but I was able to drive on to work another 1/2 mile. I'm starting the whole process with the Ins company right now. Wish me luck

ok so instlled my new double din pioneer today, anyone know wat the best dash kit is, i had a single din in there before and so the wen installed there is a gap between the stereo and the silver front plate, should i:

1- buy new brackets that tilt the stereo up a little so it is flush with the silver front plate
    or
2- buy a new silver front plate that i believe sosche has that makes the stereo recessed a bit so the stereo isnt tilted

    suggestions???
basically this (pulled these off google)

Get the recessed one, you'll have less glare issues with it.

    Hey guys,

Just joined and I thought I'd introduce myself before spawning another thread in the norcal section.

I live in San Mateo County on the peninsula side. Currently going to San Jose State and doing some part time work while I'm at it.

I drive an 06 v6 6 spd (666, truck of the beast) access cab. Silver, Yokohama Geolander At/s with revtek spacer lift. I have some Icon's sitting on the living room floor and some DSM UCAs ready to go once I pull the trigger on some tires.

Would love to hook up with some locals and learn some of the ropes with offroading. I've only ever done forest service road and don't have too much for recovery gear (that needs to change).

Very excited for snow season, possible Tahoe run this weekend...so much rain down here!

Welcome to TW! We have a mini mod day this Saturday in SJ if you want to come meet some of the folks. After the rain dies down, you'll start to see threads on the off roading trips.

Can you plow through shit like that in 4hi or 4low without dedicated snow tires/chains? My friend wants to play around up in iron mountain and all that but I still have wimpy tires. I do have chains in my toolbox, though. Would I be fine?
