I hate the pedal in my 2012, wish it was a cable pedal. Hate the electric.

It's not new, it's not Mexico
The US DOT has already determined that every one of these instances of "out of control acceleration" was caused by driver "pedal misapplication" or incorrectly fitted floor mats. I don't understand why Toyota is paying out money to people too stupid to step on the brakes instead of the gas. There NEVER was a malfunction with Toyota's drive by wire system.

Agree 100%. Really baffles me why Toyota caved on this.

Toyota's paying, but with that payment they admit no fault to it.

I didn't understand the whole fiasco of unintended acceleration. Average citizens/drivers didn't understand the whole don't stack up other floor mats on existing mats. Either that or their stupid enough not to know there's a thing called Neutral on the selector.

    Toyota is paying it forward.

yes it is ridiculous but it gets

    a) lawyers off Toyota's back

    and

    b) huge press that Toyota actually cares

    which equals

    c) profit

    I had stacked floor mats.......

The toyota floor mats were cut too short. They should've been longer and went back farther up near the firewall. The way the gas pedal pivoted, it would hit the edge of the floor mat.

I have Husky liners that go the whole way up the back.... covers everything and far enough the pedal doesn't come close to the edge.
