Once you start using it....you'll have fun with it! Aside from what has already been said.....

    Internet surfing....anywhere.

    Sending / receiving emails anywhere.

Calendar - to keep track of appointments, work schedules, plans, parties, paying bills, etc. My husband and I share a calendar - so we both have entries and know when we're busy (or not).

Grocery lists or any type of 'shopping' list where everyone in the family (with a smartphone) can access and add items to it. We always have an ongoing list of household items that we need for house, car, garage, etc. And use it while you shop.

    Playing games....

Keeping track of vehicle maintenance or other maintenance.

Mapping Apps.... Finding places to eat or shop when you're on the road. I use the smart phone to geocache.

Operating your home entertainment system with an App. Logging onto your music library, turning the stereo on and playing music and picking tunes (Airplay) from your phone.

Reading.....books, news, sports updates, and anything you'd want to read.

    Forums!!

And the list goes on... Whatever you're into... It makes your hobbies/interests more fun.

I use mine for social media, a few other apps/games here and there, email, web browsing on the go, XM radio, Pandora, maps/ navigation as needed, etc etc. You say you don't need it for music because you have an iPod but why carry 2 devices around when you can do it all with one? My iPod stays permanently hooked up to my stereo in my truck no sense in carrying it around if my phone can do it all.

As mentioned no one really needs one its all about convenience.

I literally use mine as a computer +more: emails, online banking, paying bills, web access, viewing pdf's, writing word documents, alarms, calender alerts, social media, news, weather, games, movies & music (downloaded or streamed), business calls, messaging, camera, flashlight, remote access, video & photo editing, gps, mapping and whatever else others said I left out... The main reason I have a computer at home is because of work. Although do-able, it's hard to do my cad work on a phone.

It amazes me at the apps out there I don't think of and run into.

The flashlight is quite amazing, very useful and bright. I used to use the light from the screen on my old dumb phone as a flash light anyway.

The bar code scanner is a big one for me, especially when I was Christmas shopping. Not so much for pricing but reading reviews. I used to sit at home on my laptop to read up before a purchase, now I can do it on a whim.

One that I found just for fun just the other day by accident was a fire/emt scanner. Found that looking for a weather radio app which I also found.

I am curious to see what other ideas are out there, this thread could be interesting.

I have an Iphone 4s and also love the Siri feature since the bluetooth in my truck doesn't understand my voice a lot of the time. Siri works much easier to make calls hands free.

I use my iPhone for pretty much what everyone else has been saying but the two big ones for me (Tacoma wise) are:

    1) Starting / unlocking / locking my truck from virtually anywhere with my phone with my new Viper SmartStart remote starter.

    2) Being able to jump into my truck, turn the key, and with my phone in my pocket it starts playing whatever music is "now playing" on my phone via bluetooth. Don't have to press any buttons or fiddle around with any cables. Very nice.

I use mine for email, text, gps, bar code scanning, checking reviews, games (words with friends, Angry birds, alchemy and hanging with friends), streaming radio stations (IheartRadio), flashlight, internet lookups, and music. Some cool apps (android) are Google Skymap, Navigation, and vlingo for texting by voice.

One app that I really like is Top Shelf. It's an alcohol drink mix program. You tell it what you have (e.g. juices, milk, alcohol types), and it will tell you all the drinks you can make with your inventory. You can also search based on a specific ingredient (e.g. orange juice). Also, when shopping for alcohol, it will tell you based on your inventory what will give you the most drinks in order from the largest. So for example, mine tells me that if I bought Amaretto, I could make 33 more drinks, peach schnapps would let me make 21 more drinks, etc.

I have a blackberry torch and I use it for the following.

    Texting
    Calling
    Flashlight
    Email
    Games
    Alarm
    Calendar
    Gps
    Camera
    Music

And most importantly, when I'm walking by someone I don't want too talk too. I pull out my phone and pretend I'm intently messaging someone.

    Too many to list now.
Everything. My phone starts my car, sets the temperature in my home, is the TV remote, alarm clock, you name it, it does it.

Does anyone use their iphone as a radar detector? I'm debating getting the sensor and app. Don't want to waste money but it would be nice to have.

I might be a little paranoid but does anyone else read the fine print that comes with the aps?
I'm not quoting this but here are some....
May take and send photos at random including users pictures
May send out users contact information
May send out a users location without their permission

Every ap has a disclaimer and I wonder how many people actually read them.
