Well i don't even know if there is hubcentric wheels for the Ford F450 unit bearings. But these will work.

Right I get that part, but Vin's wheels are hubcentric, not lug centric.
Since you bored out the hub, I don't think you'll ever be able to balance those things out.

Well If they are strapped onto the lathe and turned out to spec of the unit bearing they still should be you would think right? Also i thought the acorn lugs locate the wheels as well

Acorn lugs mean it's a lug centric wheel..

Ad I'd hunk if you have it just right on the lathe you could get it damn close...

    But Jason might be right..:notsure:

Yeah these wheels will just be Lug centric now i may have balancing issues but that's about it from what I'm reading. Hell the wheels on my truck are Lug centric and they are fine.

I realize that Vin's wheels use acorn lugs, but as I understand it it's only used to hold the wheels on the studs, not center the wheels on the hub. Generally speaking with hub centric wheels, the center bore of the wheel to axle is what holds the weight of the truck. The lugs are only handle lateral force that might push/pull the wheel away from the hub while the hub/center bore of the wheel handles the downward forces of the weight of the truck (90* opposed from the forces the lugs are designed to withstand). By boring out the center of the wheel, the entire weight of the truck is now resting on the lug holes of the wheels. You'd have to ask Vin, but unless the lug holes are designed to handle all the weight of the truck on the lug studs...you might be breaking some wheels.

Well the hub slides right on the wheel there really is not much play i just shaved the tapered lip off the wheel itself is still sliding on the hub where it should. It's just the little lip that holds the center cap on not the whole bore of the wheel so i don't see the wheel breaking. I don't even think that little lip is intended to be touching anything. You have to see it in person i don't think there is an issue.

    10-4, I gotcha.
I'm not trying to deter you or anything. I'd just hate to see you do all the work and something silly happen because of an oversight. :)

Jerry, once you get everything on there, just make sure to torque the wheels correctly, then re-check them every 50 miles or so for about 2 or 300 miles..... They might not balance out perfectly (like Jason is saying) but I think you'll be fine (as far as the studs bearing most of the weight of the truck) if you've got the correct lug nuts and keep them torqued down. Most of the wheel failures I see at work, that relate to this, occur from improper torquing techniqes, not torquing the lugs at all, or from using incorrect lug nuts. My $0.02...

Yeah I'm sure I'm good as i said before I only removed the little lip that holds the center cap on. The don't even touch on the Tacoma's the wheels are still a perfect fit.

I don't think the wheels will be a problem. It's generally understood than it's the clamping force the lugs/studs create vs the shear strength of the studs. I may be wrong but I don't think this changes much with hub centric wheels. I've been running wheels with too large of a bore with my 35s since I got them. No problems here.

Yeah...and they are lug centric wheels.
Meaning the lug holes are designed to support the weight of the truck.
