This is the same thing I was thinking... Since the first ban was a disaster for the Democratic Party... Not to mention the tragedy at columbine happened during that ban...

 

but those weren't 6 and 7 year olds

now the media will explode every small local shooting throughout the U.S and link it to Connecticut and the AWB

Case and point, the firefighters that were ambushed on christmas

 

yea but honestly killing is still KILLING i know what you mean but its disturbing how both sides use this tragedy as ammo to move a political agenda while its being glorified by the media.... its just fuckin sick to be honest...

I got so pissed off reading the huffington post's story about the shooting the other day; "the same military make and caliber rifle used in the Connecticut shootings" over and over

using the deaths of first responders (or anyone) to push an agenda is fucking disgusting

 

depends on if it's educated or uneducated voters. educated, no way in heck, uneducated,well we've seen what panicked / knee jerk reactions do.

 

i like how everyone knows exactly what happened when NEITHER of the investigations have been released...

 

I believe it was the grabbers that drew first blood in this debate and the pro-gun people who have been fighting back ever since.

I'd say it has a pretty good chance at some of it passing. I could see a 10 round mag limit passed.

I really dont see how all the guns that will be "grandfathered" will have to be registered like NFA items are... It already takes the ATF 6-8 months to process NFA paperwork as it is, imagine if every gun owner had to register every gun they had?! they would be backlogged for decades.


also the writters of the bill need to do some research and realize that a bayonet lug and a flash hider are only cosmetic and do not change the function of the gun

the HP story described the rifle as having a "military-style flash suppressor" then quotes the off-duty cop that responded as saying he could see the shooter because of the "muzzle flash" of his rifle...

 

^ the #1 enemy of gun owners, well that and misinformation.

 

I really wish a lot of you people posting in this thread would quit quoting how you think NFA firearms, "registration", etc. works... 90% of what I am reading is wrong.

It's quite tiring and time consuming to fix the derp this thread has become.

Like the guy who suggested that AR-15s on the NFA registry can be converted to full-auto... That's not how the NFA works at all. I wouldn't suggest trying to make your own machine gun.

Gun "registration" for most people doesn't exist, even though they think it does. Unless your state specifically requires a registration, nothing exists on a Federal level for your normal firearms purchases. The 4473 you fill out never leaves the gun shop, and the NICS check doesn't record anything other than it was done.
