So why do the Police need them? Are the Police infinitely more valuable that you and your Family?

A high capacity ammo load in a handgun or carbine is ABSOLUTELY better than low capacity when you need it. This is without question as the worlds Military would all be shooting bolt-actions.

So I say, Yes YOU and I deserve to be able to have that advantage to defend ourselves if a gang of bad guys comes after you and your Family on a deserted street. Furthermore, while You might agree with Obama that your 9 round magazine is sufficient, but rest assured the bad guys will have high capacity and there will be several of them.

Why cannot people see that only good guys obey gun laws? Are people so gullable to think criminals are going to obey a new gun law? I really believe people just are not thinking anymore.

First of all they are called magazines, not clips.
Secondly, plugged shotguns are for hunting and wildlife management.
And last, I want a high capacity magazine for self defense because it increases my chances of surviving an attack. Remember theses laws only affect people who obey them. If high capacity magazines are banned then legal citizens will be defending themselves and their families with low capacity firearms against thugs with high capacity firearms.

Why do thugs have high capacity firearms you ask? Because laws do not affect those that break laws and..

If there is a demand, there will always be a supply! as made blatantly obvious on the war on drugs

    Lol. That's actually comical.

I agree with this 100%. The CT shooter broke many laws in obtaining the firearms he used.

I think the "high capacity magazine" issue is interesting. On one end people will argue it will make no difference because someone could easily quickly change magazines (which I wont argue its a fait point) yet on the other hand the higher capacity magazine is argued to be needed for home protection. So the criminals can quickly change a magazine yet a well trained responsible gun owner wouldn't be able to? Additionally I'd be curious to know how many home invasion type incidents take place with "assault rifles" and high capacity mags vs handguns. And everyone wants to say these mass shooters would have been stopped in their tracks in often less than ideal conditions( like the movie theater) yet in your house where you would have a perceived advantage you would need more bullets to take down the intruder?

Just seems like a lot of contradictory arguments when it comes to the magazine issue. I'd agree it wouldn't make much of a difference one way or the other but there doesn't really seem yo be much of a for argument other than I want it.

As for the registration issues if they can Be successfully implemented without too much of a burden i don't see what the issue would be.

All of these analogies are actually pretty funny, but its sad because they all give the liberals the impression that all of us are uneducated retards.

So you're saying we should still use lead paint?

And go back to the 60's when we didn't have seat belts or airbags in cars?

We don't need to eliminate things, but we can make things safer.

Regardless of my previous post's craziness, my answer for "needing" a large capacity magazine... I don't "need" one. In fact, I cannot purchase one in my state, CA. However, if I could legally buy a 30 round magazine, I absolutely would... Here's why; I have lived in the same town my entire life, a medium sized suburb in the SF Bay Area. There are several very high end neighborhoods in my town, including communities with private patrols and some are even gated. My girlfriend lives in one of these communities, up in the hills, in the "nicest" area of my town. We are about a ten minute drive to some of the worst parts of Oakland, but at the same time, we've had 2 murders in the past year, and maybe 10 total in the past 7-8 years.

But over the past two weeks, in the nicest neighborhoods in this town, literally walking distance from where my girlfriend and her family live, there have been two home invasion robberies. Both were described as 4-5 men, wearing masks, all armed with guns, occurring around 3am when people are home asleep. The first house thy broke into was occupied by two 60+ year olds, they struck the male occupant in the head and put him in the hospital (he survived). Four days later, the (alleged) same group broke into anther house,(also walking distance from my girlfriends) this time they forced the homeowner who was home, with children, to open his safe.

Now, I pray that am I never ever forced to be in a situation like that. We (my family and my girlfriend's family) are very vigilant, always make sure the doors are locked, always make sure motion sensing lights are working, and on my house, I've installed a surveillance system. But, if the day came, where I am at my home or my girlfriends, and four to five armed men break into the house, with the intention of forcibly stealing things, and absolutely threatening our lives, I am scared that by CA LAW, I can only have a 10 round magazine in a legally built AR 15. That would absolutely be a situation where yes, I NEED a 30 round magazine. It is very likely, that after I fire one shot, these guys are gonna scatter and run away, and then yes, I only needed one bullet, but if that happens to be the day where several guys are firing back, I don't want to find out how fast 10 rounds goes. This is not me being paranoid, this is just me not being ignorant and telling myself, "oh it could never happen to me..." It very possibly could, it's happened to random houses within walking distance of the place I sleep.

(Don't take this the wrong way- I know that if 5 armed guys break into my house and have me totally by surprise, I'm fucked anyways, and ill probably have to just give them what they want and hope for the best, but under ideal circumstances, I might have a few seconds to arm myself and scare them away or eliminate the threat)
