do i think it worked well? I have no idea, that's why I'm not assuming it did our didn't, i could just as easily use that as an example of how an armed security guard works. There wad an armed security guard at columbine high school, that's why only 12 people were killed, they would have killed more. See what i did? So far yet no one had produced evidence either way so until then it's an inappropriate example. When you do find facts in regards to your example please report them.

    Well said rich.

Doubtful, ever hear anything about the shooting at a mall in Oregon a few weeks ago? Did you hear how it ended? I never saw anything on MSNBC, CNN ETC. I'll try to find the vid it's in another locked thread.

Agreed. This whole thread is a dead end. I post because I get mad when people are just upset over what happened recently in CT. Kids are being killed constantly all over the country like this, but, only when rich white kids are murdered, the nation takes notice and wants to ban and regulate guns. Gun regulation is not the answer. Take away guns, knives, hammers, whatever, and mentally\socially disturbed people with find a way to hurt others. Maybe we should start banning subways. People get shoved on the subway tracks. Lets ban city transportation.

It was mentioned above that mass murders at schools (you said "like this") has happened only 5 times. Can you cite more examples that have been ignored that involve minorities... I'll even give you another 5 victims and count 5 killings as "mass".
I'm aware of two in California... Stockton and San Diego.
San Diego gave Bob Geldof's career a shot in the arm, and Stockton was responsible for California's first AWB in 1990.

Rich, dont be ignorant. You know that in california, kids are killed every day by weapons that people in CT want to ban. It is only because the kids are in a wealthy CT town, people give a damn. BTW...Oakland, Fresno, Long Beach, Oxnard, Santa Ana........

Damn there are really that many AR15s out on the streets? Weird how the media doesn't popularize these events as it would further their agenda. Care to cite a few sources this week or maybe this month? How many off these"kids" are innocent victims? Or are they just gang bangers?

Not only AR's, but 9mm handguns as well.
I've been mentioning Oakland,Ca because it's about an hour from me. Besides what I've read in the paper over the last couple of years, here is something I found to show what other members on TW dont really get to enjoy like us bay are folks:

    Innocent victims, gang member shooters.

As you said, another law won't stop that:
    Felons can't legally possess firearms.
Shooting in city limits is illegal.
Shooting from a moving vehicle is illegal.

And BTW, the one and only gun shop in Oakland is owned by the police Chief and only sells to LEOs.

But for this problem, the solution is simple.
Lock them up and throw away the key.
No time off for good behavior... you serve your full sentence and to hell with a federal judge that says you need to release felons.

The solution for the crazy person with no prior issues that "the system" is not aware of is more difficult. It lies in identifying truly troubled individuals, rather than slapping every normal young male with the "on the spectrum" label.

That will be the "real" next step in so called gun control. How deep will the criminal background check go? ATF/DOJ might check out your kids, friends, relatives, neighbors.....anyone who might eventually be able to get ahold of your guns.

    Yup...

And the SCOTUS has issued a number of very positive rulings in the last 5 years, and we've even had some very favorable rulings out of the 9th Circus.

Everyone who is getting "bullied" in school needs to stop being a little pussy. Everyone is going to get picked on by someone. It happens. That's no reason to go off the friggin deep end and one day just say "Know what? I'm gonna go kill those f*ckers". Hey, buttercup, suck it up and get over it. I think if it started there, there would be fewer "troubled people." There will still be some legit "mental issues", and I have absolutely no facts to back it up, but I would go out on a limb and say it's usually the "weird" kids in school that get picked on that end up doing this crap.

That's probably not a popular opinion, and not PC enough, but I don't really care.

I think if parents were not afraid of getting into trouble, the discipline level of kids would be great. the issue of today is that kids think it is cool to disrespect their parents and others, they think parents are crazy if they smack their kids.

Do the world a favor, if you kid does something wrong, use reasonable force:) to discipline them

This. I will spank my child. I was whipped as a kid, with a switch or a belt when I deserved it. I turned out fine. Never snapped and killed anyone. That's where it all starts, but for some reason, people don't seem to understand that.

I hope the NRA fights it........My FFL guy told me today that Feinstien(CA Sen.) is trying to pass something that will make californians need an ID card with thumbprint registration just to buy ammo.

I was the dumbass who never learned that it was NOT a good idea to show what a man I was by saying "Didn't hurt"

I finally learned when the form of the destructor became a pingpong paddle with 1" holes drilled in it to allow air to pass through.
    THAT hurt!

And even if it didn't, the next logical step would have been the .38 :p
