My KM2's seem to do even better in the rain than they do in the dry. I've only run them for about 2-3K so don't buy tires off of my advice though. :anonymous:

Yeah, I've heard that too, I didn't get to really test them out before all the roads got plowed over the last couple days. They are decent in the rain though. I might go with Duratracs if go with 285's instead of 255's, heard a lot better reviews from them.

I havent had a chance to test my km2s in the snow yet. Last winter was a bust. I havent had a problem with them in rain though. I would do duratracs but i dont think they make them in a 255/80/17.
Those bighorns look pretty good. Post how they perform if you get them

Yeah, I think your only choices are KM2's, Cooper STT's, and the Bighorns.

Woot! My 255/85R16's just got here.. They're chained up in my driveway... Couldn't convince the lady to let me bring em inside for safe keeping.... Too redneck she says. Gonna try to mount and balance them tomorrow, if my buddy let's me use the machine... If not, I might just pay to have them put on... I'm sick of having "spares" all the way around on my truck LOL

    btw,ntheyre KM2's ;)

Got my tires on. I should have gone bigger... there's damn near enough room for 35's in there. I'll try to get some pics up when I get home.

One of my fucking tpms is fucked. Telling me I have 77 psi in one of my tires. :shake fist:

    Is anything ever easy?

    Hey guys,

Does anyone here have the ability/time to give me a hand adjusting the boots on CV joints?

I'm trying to do the mod this user did: http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd-gen-tacomas/190669-my-cv-boot-mod.html because I just tore one of the boots this last week.

Just trying to avoid tearing the other ones at this point and after I fix the broken shaft. I just can't get the damn clips off of the boots.....

I've spent the last half hour prying at the end of the clamp with a flat head.

Use a sharp one and once you get it under the lip, twist it back and forth...

Fuck, I wish I had seen this as I drove through FFX. I JUST got home here in Silver Spring. If you can stand to do it, sharpen the tip of your flat blade a bit.. Don't make it too thin, else you won't have any str in the shaft for the prying portion of the job.

I've an icon set up on my rig. Once I get my spindles and lca on I might drop the front end a tiny bit, to get my rake back.

She drives really well on the 33's I have noticed no loss in power, but now my first gear is worth a damn... For a maybe an extra second or two lol

No worries Ronin. I was able to get the two clamps off. Just took a dremel tool to them!

I couldn't get the boot at the wheel moved far enough up the shaft to remove the fins touching but they're not touching as much. I'll have to go back later, it's too cold and wet in the driveway right now.

Good thing I'm regearing my front diff in February so I can replace the passenger CV then!

oh shit!!!! soooo happy to see guys in the NoVa area on here!!!
    Just joined today...have a 09 dbl cab w/ a magnaflow cat back and a 2"spacer on frt.
SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, ques. for you all; just ordered a bilstein 5100 frt/rear shock set and a 1 1/2" tsb aal from toytec....would any of you say to run the frt shocks at the 2 1/2' setting???
this is cuz my truck is level w/ the 2"spacer in frt already and will be lifting the rear 1 1/2"...oh and i will be reusing my orig frt coils...
BTW, i have duratracs right now in 265/70/17 and got about 22,000 miles on them...about alittle less than half the tread life left.....I LOVE THEM!!!!
but eventually will go w/ a more street tire when they wear out...such as a 275/70/17 wrangler silent armor.
I really dont do any offroad driving except for shuttle day in Fredneck Md. and thats all gravel anyway....jus wanted alittle more lift and load carrying in back.

lastly any of u guy recommend a good shop to put this stuff on???? please dont say trick trucks in Chantilly
