    ^^^^

sorry guys, been packing things up to head back down to florida.

It was a fun trip. Saturday morning was a little slow, getting stuck with a group of rovers that had some real slow trucks in it. spent most of the morning getting a few of them back up to higher ground andback to camp. Craig was along for this part. Unfortunately didn't get to wheel much with him because of the large group. we were able to split off of them later on saturday and get ourselves into some interesting situations on trail 12 and some other blues that were pretty much impassable because of the nice thick layer of ice, covered in about 6-8 nches of snow.

saturday morning, before the real snow came.....

snow really picked up later saturday morning

    some shots of craig

had to get a range rover up a good sized hill. had good traction, but it wasn't enough to tow another vehicle uphill with.

when i couldn't get him any higher by just spinning tires, out came the winch.....

then doug hit a tree. his roof rack saved him from damage, butif he drove forward any more, boom goes the tail light. out came the winch again. this wa trail 12.

then some asshole left his jeep in the middle of the trail. aparently he didn't know how to drive up a snowy hill and had to get out and walk to the trail head to one of the rangers to drive it up for him.
the ranger stopped by our camp later that afternoon and told us there were 8 groups wheeling saturday, and we were only 1 of 2 that didn't call the office to have someone come rescue them.

sunday was extremely windy and cold, by much clearer.
this was near the end of some blue that i can't remember the name of.

after a cold trip like that, i'm happy to say i'm returning to florida :)
Next wheeling trip is only 3 weeks away, in north florida!

finally found a good way to carry my ramps too. should help out in the deep sugar sand we have in FL.

That looks like it was a ton of fun.

But i have noticed that it seems like every time you guys go to RC, someone ends up getting into a fight with a tree.

You northerners need to stop beating up on those trees.

Knock on wood, but i've actually never hit a tree at Rausch. been pretty fortunate, the worst i've ever come out of rausch is with scratched skids, and a tweaked alignment. The cove (in Virginia) on the other hand, has beat the crap out of me. 2 flat tires and two tree hits. then again, florida has also offered me two tree hits as well. asside from the big bedside hit, last trip, I caught the bumper wing head on going a decent speed. Thomas was riding shotgun, and we both got tossed forward pretty hard.
