I'm not sure yet. Was wanting to go 1.75 but now I've read that some people still have drive line vibrations. I though that was only at 2.5. Also if I do go 1.75 I have to decide what to do on the rear. Some on here say theirs is level with the rear stock but I think they look nose high. Either try to get the tsb approved, get an aal, or a 1" block. Trying to keep the ride as smooth as possible, so may just do a block and 1.75 in the front.

Got enough Christmas $ to buy them, just got to get them installed.

DO NOT GET A BLOCK! A block will kill your springs. Get the TSB as well as an AAL and you will be level if you go 2.5....You may even have a little bit of rake. Here is my truck a while ago with TSB, AAL and 5100 @ 2.5

^^ agreed. Negative on the block. I'm about to change my rear end around, ditching the block and going with shackles, bc I've got the camper shell and need the extra inch to stay at 40.5. Do like shady said. It will be a lot better

I guess I'm kind of old school, my old lifted Ranger back in the day had a 4" block and never gave me any problems. I'm only talking 1 inch so I don't see where it would hurt

Ideally I would like to get the tab done, but I don't feel like they will approve me. I haven't hauled that much therefore show little signs of wear I could use a load of fire wood though.

I put the Dakars in the rear... sits up real high but I had major issues with vibes and a wicked shudder. Ended up with a custom 1 piece drive shaft and drives perfect now....

just say no to blocks :p

I've been reading a lot on here and other forums about the drive line vibration and it seems to me it is more in lifting the rear rather than the fronts. I've seen several that have had similar issues as above. Some have claimed to be in the front with 5100's at 1.75 or 2.5 which would make sense, but I keep reading about people putting one piece drive shafts in to fix the issue.

Mine has had a 1 1/2 block on the truck since new. Drive 100 miles a day and not the first problem or sag from it. Truck has 67000 miles on it.Drives just as good or better than without it. I dont offroad, all highway miles. I have a 1984 ford f150 that came from the factory with a block, still drive it weekly also.

I guess I will try for the tsb first then go from there. All they can say is no, if the approve then I will go 1.75. If not I'll go from there.

Im not gonna wheel it. I bought it just to drive back and forth to work. My last Toyota truck before this one had 467000 miles on it. Just drove it to work and back, have my 84 ford to go wheeling in.

This is part of where I'm struggling. I want this truck to last for a long time and don't want to contribute to problems by lifting. But I love the look and feel of a lifted truck, I can't stand to leave a vehicle stock, and I don't mind wheeling, just not in a hurry since its still too new and not paid for.

I'm just trying to find a good medium to have fun with it and yet not to the point of wearing out components. That's where I'm torn between .85 and 1.75.

I went with 5100s and 885s up front just because I didnt want to preload the spring any. The ride really is good. I dont go off road in it so I cant help you there, but everything you read and hear says not to use a block. But like you said before about your ford I have a factory block and a 4 inch block sitting on top of that. Its been like that since around 1990. If I had to do it over again I would go with the same set up. Just my 2 cents. Where you live at in Ga?
