My Brother once broke the welds holding one side of the pumpkin to the axle tube on a 1977 Ford LTD doing a brake stand.

Anyways, back to the OP. Where exactly is it leaking? Pics?

yea where is it leaking? if it has a small puncture just drain and weld it! otherwise check the torque on your 3rd member mounting.

i would imagine any 05 up rear to fit. i believe the 4 cyls. to even use the same gearing as the 6's. check out the junkyard if you really need to. you could get the one off a trd o/r and wire up that locker lol.

    am i way off?

Yup, you are a bit off.

4cyl 4x4s and prerunners have 4.10 gears, while the V6 4x4s and prerunners have 3.73s.

An e-locker 3rd won't fit a non-e-locker axle housing, but you can swap the whole axle. Trouble is, you won't find a complete stock 2nd gen one with 4.10s
