I would be interested in checking out centralia. I will try to do some research on access and legality of visiting the area today, while I am supposed to be working.

Any of you guys familiar with Lehigh River rafting trips?

What would you recommend in terms of trips?
I've found several and just don't know what's best. This wouldn't be anything drastic - just family rated rapids 1's & 2's I believe. I've done 3's in W.V. - but the husband has never gone and gotta go easy on 'em. :D Plus, this might be an organized trip with other people.

    There's WhiteWater Challengers

    Jim Thorpe River Adventures

    Pocono Whitewater

If there are any others that you recommend, please let me know!!!
    Thanks!

Janster, I went whitewater rafting for the first time last weekend in Ohiopyle. Our guide said the highest rated rapid on our particular route was rated at 3+. I think half of us never had done rafting ever and the other half (8 people + guide on a raft) had some experience.

I think your husband would be fine on class 3 as long as there are people on his raft that have done it before.

I know he'll be fine...but we may have other people involved with children. I have to check out the rates & locations to make a final decision. Right now, I'm looking for reputable trips.

Good time to teach them critical survival skills like "Hold on like I done told you 15 times now!!" or how to swim. :D

Am I the only one with kids that have to learn everything the hard way?

Maybe they'll learn to do as they're told?  Mine seem to have a problem with that. Maybe the threat of imminent death would motivate them? :D
