Is it the stupid CAI rule?
    What about the over taxation?
Maybe it's that you can buy medial greens but you can't own em?
The stupid high standard of living any where near a city?
    SWAT?
    LACK OF TRAILS?
RUST FROM DRIVING IN THE OCEAN?
    :confused::confused::confused:

its funny... my wife and i were talking at dinner last night about how california (southern cal, anyway) sucks.

i was commenting on a trip i took to denver, colorado with a buddy of mine. we went to a restaurant and, at the front door, this 10 year old kid stopped and held open the door for 2 little old ladies. one of the old ladies was using a walker and they both were moving very slow. the kid smiled at them and said hello as they slowly passed by him. once the ladies were in the building, the kid joined his parents in the parking lot who were waiting for him to leave.

the funny is that i was suprised by this behavior. heh... suprised by a polite and curtious young kid! you would never see that in so cal (los angeles). many people in so cal have a me, me, me attitude. what ever happened to parents teaching their children respect for other people?

^^^ You'll see that a lot in the South, too. But you won't see the mountains. I've wanted to move to Denver ever since I visited there for work a few years ago.

Don't get me wrong. I live in a small town (pop. of 2000) and and really love the Ca. scenery and most of the rural people that I deal with, city folks are a different story. But it is getting harder and harder to live here if you don't have a healthy income.

Plus DMV is rapping everyone and the cops are writing more tickets. I am just tired of the stupid people in at the top.

Soon we will need to ask for permission to take a crap.

I hate it here too. Cost of living is my biggest reason. Its like a catch 22 situation. The good is that jobs in my field are plentiful and they pay well. The bad is that EVERYONE else also makes more money. That and there is this belief that California ( bay area anyway) is oh-so-wonderful that people will almost sell their first born just to buy a starter home. That and there is an atmosphere of snobbery and an infatuation with money, wealth, and prestige.

All I can say is that we've been saving for 7 years now. We rent cheap and save a good chunk of our incomes. Someday we'll be outta' here. I seriously think about that every single day because I hate it here so much.

Hey guys, cheap living and warm winters down here.
Cheaper taxes, no CAI rules. And we are friendly, there's less snobs cause they are all in California bothering you wonderful Tacoma owners! Not only that but have you seen my backyard? I call it the proving grounds...
    just saying...

    p.s. don't forget sunscreen.

My family has a place up by klamath falls, or and it truly like stepping back in time. The people actually help one another and the state works without and sales tax, wtf CA.

I miss the trails out there. Thats about all I miss of SoCal.

Cost of living is crazy, ridiculous taxes, crazy laws that never cease to amaze me. The rude (majority) of people out there. Not that everyone is that way. I missed the slower pace of the midwest. The courteous, polite people and laid back atmosphere.
Kids that say "yes sir, and yes ma'am" are commonplace here. Folks out here hold the door open for each other and especially for ladies and elders.
KC is home to the original (now deceased) Secret Santa and numerous charitable organizations that give time and money. We have now three Children's Mercy Hospitals dedicated to solely helping kids. Originally from New York I call KC/midwest home.

Someone hand me an iced tea, i'm thirsty ya'll. -- peace

I agree with Killer Red Taco. Most of my buddies live in rural California. Honestly, most rural Californians I've met would get along great with Southerners back home. Very laid back and they'll stop and help you if you break down.

The cities.... well 90% of the people in them aren't from CA and probably 50% of those are from CT, NJ, NY, MA and other Northeastern states/cities. That kind of explains the attitude problems.

But some of you all who hate Cali aught to visit some of the backwoods areas. They're pretty cool and easy going. In fact, I'm spending the weekend way the heck out there in Mendocino.
