I aint afraid to admit my fear of spiders-and even moreso because of health reasons now-that doesnt make me a "pussy" as much as you setting behind your keyboard calling people names:mad: and acting like youre more brave than the rest of us.

Sorry Ridge I wasn't trying to offend any one, just poking some fun (mainly at Chris)

Not being afraid of spiders in no way constitutes bravery.

We had those in fields where I grew up in Illinois. Here in Ca. the biggest I have ever seen was a field spider that cast a web on my deck from the ceiling down to the railing and 5 feet across. His body was as big as that pic but fatter around:eek:

I like corn spiders. They are creepy but cool and harmless. They make huge ass webs that make you scratch your head in amazement.

I had a couple of them in my yard - mainly on the eaves of the house last year.

I leave them alone OUTSIDE because they do kill other bugs. INSIDE is another story. I WILL kill spiders in my house, but outside I usually leave them alone.

I also hate the webs they leave on my trees outside. Always feel like the spider is crawling on me :annoyed::annoyed: One of them will make a web from my crape myrtle to my car... so I get to walk into a web almost every morning.

Now snakes on the other hand... :annoyed: :annoyed: :annoyed: :annoyed: :annoyed:

Remember, spiders are free pest control!
There is a buddy of mine here that was doing yard work in his back yard. He had to get up in the middle of the night so he threw on the pants he was wearing before. He felt this strange sensation on his thigh. He smacked it and threw of his pants. Well, there it was. A Brown Recluse!
He went to the doctor the next day and they gave him the good news. He had to have a nurse come in every few days for several weeks to carve out the dead tissue. He still has a hole in his thigh.
Another buddy of mine is a salesman for a pest control company. He was getting into his car with his hot morning coffee. Started to drive to work when he felt something crawl on him. It was a spider! He smashed it, spilled his coffee and then noticed that it was a mommy spider. It had hundreds of babies on her back that were now on him!!! He turned around and went home. He got some of his good pesticide and sprayed the entire inside of his car.

I understand they are "Free pest control"...Thing is, there are no other pests out here...Spiders and Ants...I kill the spiders, then use KFC honey packets to leave a trial to the neigbors house for the ants to follow. Life is good!
