installed a rola roof rack with the 18" extension, mounted the hi lift jack the correct way, put a handle holder, neoprene jack cover, changed headlight bulbs, plasti dipped the fairing, wired and moved rear license plate.

Really wanted a baja rack but couldn't afford it. Getting some mounts for my axe and shovel. Get to go camping in January!!! Hell yeah!

Hey dude, couple questions... What did you do with your fender liners ? Did you trim them, or just remove them... I can't really tell in any of your pics. I'm trying to decide what to do with mine........ And then, do you by chance remember the approximate spacing between your offroad lights ? It's not that critical, but I like how yours came out, so I wanted to get it close.... Thanks !!!

Fenders are gone, once i added the 285, and the 1.5 wheel spacers rubbed a lot. Had to pull out the hammer and ended up taking the fender lining out. I'll measure the distance between the tabs tomorrow when I get a chance!

From center of the mount to the center of the other mount 13.5 inches. Let me know what else you need. Do you have a cb?

Sweet !!!...... Thanks man !!!... I got it exact.... I figured you surely had other priorities today than to take measurements for some dude on a truck forum... So this morning I laid my lightbar on the floor, and put my lights face down as wide as they'd fit within it, then measured the studs, happened to be 13.5"

I do have a CB... Do you need ideas, or were you just asking in general ?
I use a Uniden 520 with a 5' Firestik... Probably going to change the antenna type though.

I ordered the same cb, uniden 520 pro with 4' firestick and external speaker. where is your antenna mounted currently? I might ask you more questions next weekend when I install it.

My radio is where the ashtray used to be... If you remove the slide rails for the ashtray, and then cut out a small portion of the black plastic at the back with a dremel, the radio will fit perfect... I just used velco to keep it in place... You'll see if you test fit it, that it fits snug, the velco is just added security.

For the antenna, I wanted it in the back, but I have a cap like you. So I made a mount that goes in between the tailgate and the driver side taillight. I used 3/16 flatbar, made a piece of angle (angle iron will work, I just didn't have any). Where the tailgate latches, I took that hasp off, and put the mount underneath it. There's enough space that it'll fit, and the tailgate will still close fine, I just have to lift the handle when I close it.... The antenna is well out of the way, so it's not affected whether the cap is on or off and it sticks up well above the roof line so reception and transmission is not too badly affected... Let me know if you want to see pics..... The thing I am having a problem with though is the ground plane issue, and is the reason I may switch to a different antenna.

I might break down and get a wilson... I really didn't want to go that route with the height, but I'm getting tired of having ground issues

Mike, did you run the power to your fuse box? If so what fuse did you use? Thanks

I tapped off one of the auxillary 12v outlets... However, I needed to run the ground to chassis to avoid ignition noise.

You can run off the fuse box if you want to. I would recommend tapping off something that gets cut off with the ignition, like the radio 12v ignition line. You'll have double fuse protection, so you don't need to worry too much about current draw. You have some options there... Let me know what you decide to go with.

I love it I think...lol....don't really notice anything different other than the peace of mind. I origially had my cb ran to an aux in my fuse box under the dash so it would only come one with the accessary key, but redid it to the blue sea fuse block (direct connection). Only reason I did it was because I used that slot for my winch power instead. No other real reason though. I talked to joejoe 10 miles through the city into newport news from hampton  with it hooked to the fuse box under the dash.
