Lift after rear spring TSB

So I've got the rear leaf spring TSB on my 07 Access Cab. I was looking around for a lift kit that will give me about 3" of lift, and level the truck at the same time. And yes, I'm looking for a kit, instead of putting one together myself. I would like something to just bolt in, I hate messing with the trial and error type thing. Should I just buy front spacers to level the truck and say screw the whole lift idea?

Does the RevTek part #426 (3" front 1 1/4" rear) help with this at all??

 

I was wondering if the TSB makes a difference as well. Anxious to hear what people say.

 

My truck definitely sits higher in the rear after the TSB. I was hoping it was going to settle, but it hasn't yet. I could just level the truck, but then I'm jealous when I see another lifted 2nd gen

My TSB raise my 4 banger up HUGE amounts. I'm talking about the rear being over 3" higher. However they will settle down, and adding some weight to the bed for a few weeks will speed that up.

Spacers in the front will ruin your ride quality, and wear out suspension components quicker. That said, I am selling a readylift leveling kit

 

I got the rear tsb done. Then i bought the ome setup up front. I bought it preassymbled. It was an easy bolt on setup. My truck sits almostly perfectly level withought me touching the rear.

Hmmmmm I'm gonna have to go measure and see what the difference is between the front and rear of my truck. I think replacement front coils would be best now that you've brought up the ride quality/front spacer issue. OME 883s vs. 884s....just height difference (1/2"), or is there also a ride quality difference??

 

I have a access cab and just got my tsb done as well. I measure it out and if I get bilstein 5100s and set them at 2.5" my truck will be perfectly level. Yours shouldn't be much different. If my rear settles over time then I will just put in a AAL to raise the rear back up so the front isnt higher.

 

Interesting. So I'm a bilstein idiot. I can get the adjustable 5100s, keep the stock spring setup, and almost perfectly level the truck? Wont this make the ride a little stiffer up front?

 

Oh, and I just measured the wheel gaps on my truck (yes, in the dark...I couldn't wait). I have a 6" front tire to fender clearance and a 9" rear tire to finder clearance.

So either the OME 883/884 springs, or the bilstein 5100s to level the height of the truck....and the bilstein website says I can then clear a 33" tire? SWEET!

Now to decide if I'm gonna mount a winch and winch bumper up front.....

 

make sure you read up on the lift and running 33's. You will more than likely rub tires in the front on a 3" lift. spacers are cheap, billy's and/or new springs in front are better or you can go a full coilover for probly the best performance. do your research and buy stuff once, instead of kicking yourself later. good luck

 

So you think that the 5100s in front, set at 2.5" I'll rub a bit huh? Maybe I should look into some 32s? I don't really want to shell out more cash for upper control arms either. I'm guessing the 5100s and/or the OME springs are my best bet?

 

Yes you will rub. Theres a guy here I talked to about the same thing a month or so back. Roxspin is his name I think. He has 5100s at 2.5 with 33's and is rubbing. Even people with a full 3" lift are rubbin 33's. Either way if you want 33s youll have to trim.

And yes, the 5100s at 2.5 will be stiffer than stock. Hope this helps

 

Hey - just put in front Bilsteen 5100s set at 2.5 inches with Toytech 2 inch AAL (not same as TSB ~ .5 inch) and put on BFG KO 33's.

RUBBING A-arm - so added 2.5 front wheel spacers and took off front mud flaps.

STILL RUBBING some areas of black plastic in wheel well.

Took razor to these areas and now RUB FREE with 33's!

I'll try a post some pics today or tomorrow.

 

Well, I'm pretty lazy, hate doing something and taking it apart, hoping it will work, then taking it apart again. Maybe I'll just put on some 32s. Only an inch difference, I'm sure it'll look ok and at least less of a chance of rubbing.

 

Ok thanks, I'm horrible at the whole metric tire conversion math thing. If somebody were to ask me what size tires I have on now, I'd have to look at the tire.

 

Before I changed my tires my OEM tires DID NOT rub with my level - see my thread above.
