I'm in the market to get a new cell phone. I'm looking at the BB line and I wanted to know how I would benefit from getting the BB Bold over the BB Curve?

About the only difference I can see is that I would be paying ~$299.99 for the Bold and ~$99.99 for the Curve.

The internet browser and the newer technology that the bold has is better, with the curve i had some issues that i didnt like. I dont have a bold (I have an Iphone) but my friend does i have played around with it and if you havent had a BB before it was be an easy phone to learn by BB standards. Plus the screen is very sharp after i get rid of my iphone i will probably go back to BB with the Bold.

I dont have the BOLD i have the curve and I like it.

    Google BB BOLD Vs Curve

There are tons of comparisons out there. For the savings, I would seriously consider the curve.

Hold them both in your hand, to me the Bold feels cheap (more plastic like). The curve feels more ergonomic.

The BOLD will have a better display though, but feels cheap IMO.

I do really like the screen on the Bold. I didn't have the chance to check out the browser though. The curve seemed to be pretty friendly to me on the net. Thanks

haha. I've tried the Bold Vs Curve search....bad idea. I ended up more confused and lost than when I started. Saving that extra bit of change is very nice. :D

Do you use your phone for a lot of things or just talking and texting?

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
If you get a curve, I recommend opera mini browser. It is just like surfing the web, view wise.

It will be used for networking on the web, messaging, texting, talking and whatever else it will do.

If I'm going to have the phone I'm going to use it to the max.

    Thanks for the advice.

I have had a curve for over a year and like it. It does more than I would ever want a phone to do. Easy to use and the hands free is the best I have ever seen. The battery life is also crazy....I charge it once a week.

I had a Curve for a long time, until I got my iPhone. I Liked it. The Bold will be practically the same aside from 3G.

If you plan on doing anything online I would get the bold. If you are only going to use it to check email, the Curve will be fine.

I believe the bold and the new curve have the same operating system. Only difference is hardware (screen size/resolution, 3g radio on bold only, keyboard and chassis differences). I have a bold, my first BB, and I absolutely love it. I REALLY love that I can drop it and not shatter a stupid glass screen like a certain overhyped phone that's out there.

But seriously, BB's have been around for a very long time and they are very stable and nothing can touch their security. Don't get me wrong, the bold is a great media player as well, but if you want something that just works, get a BB.

Java is very stable and secure ;)

Get the Bold. It does everything you need and has 3G.

I had the Curve and now I have the Bold. The only differences that I notice are aesthetic - the Bold has an incredibly crisp and beautiful screen display. Otherwise, it's just the BB OS with the Bold being a little faster.
