Well i've been thinking coilovers so i started measuring to see how long of coilovers i can cram on the truck.I can run 14" in the front and still be at about 23" at the frame. I do plan on cutting holes in the bed and running the shocks so i'm thinking 16" in the rear :D. I'm going to french the frame above the axle so i can mount the shocks outside the frame.

I thought you weren't planning on cutting up your bed for shock space since you use your bed?

Well I have been doing a little reading and I'm thinking of running a cantilever setup in the rear to save my bed space. and it would be pretty sick

Haha! Was just looking at those myself. I don't full understand how to make one but that would be bad ass

That setup looks like it would limit flex tho too since both shocks are connected by a big bar..

Hmmm I guess I see now..so really the two shocks act as one and the heirs off the axle flex independently?

Damn jerry, I've been planning on doing a cantilever on the rear of mine for like a year! lol. Beating me to SAS, and now if you do a cantilever too!? :frusty: :p

I've got a bunch of cad diagrams of various geometries for the link and pivot locations, just never pulled all the frame and axle measurements to see which one would work best. :turtleride:

No, each shock/coilover act on its own. They're mounted seperate, and only share the subframe mounts and link pivot locations.
Theres the triangular linkage that converts the vertical movement of the axle to horizontal of the shock, and the geometry of that link effects the travel numbers and how much leverage the shock receives as well as the progressive-ness of the travel.

Yeah just tossing around ideas the cantilever is an awesome idea :D

It's going to be tough to tell until I cut every out and have the frame clean of all the crap in there. I think my rear swap is going to be more complicated then my front

Sounds like I should have paid more attention in geometry class.

    Yeah tell me about it.

You would think a front linked suspension would be more with the steering but i'm starting the realize a linked rear is way more :D
