Okay, so maybe this is a chick thing, call it what you will. When I was driving my 4runner today, home from a long day at work, I got to thinking.. I miss my Tacoma.

I miss the acceleration and power of the 2.7L vs the 2.4L 22RE. It has so many memories for me. I got it for my 17th Birthday(I'm a youngin, I'll be 20 in October) It's the only one/thing that saw me cry as I was moving away for college at the age of 17, with my dad behind me in his big ole' diesel and trailer behind him with all my stuff in it. It helped me move to my first apartment away from home. My first Mud Bog. First offroading experience, first road trip, first ... yeahh. She let me lean on her first time I got too drunk at a party and ended up getting sick.. Man. the memories, it makes me emotional. Idk. It's more than a truck, I guess its like a friend. She's my baby, my pride and joy. It's just got sentimental value. I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels this for their truck, hah.

Anyone else got any stories or anything?

I've only had mine for about a year, but I totally understand. I remember the day I got her... it was the same day I got the truck ;)

My first car was a '96 Civic.. it was my learning eperience towards vehicles. i'd try this, I'd try that. I learned how to work on cars, modify them, tear them apart, build them back up. What they were capable of. Oh the memories. I still remember jumping it off that one rail road track, getting it stuck behind a building on a cold winter night. It always brought me home though. I sold it to a guy around my age (25) and it turns out he lives a mile down the road from me. I still get to see it everyday. He told me his plans for it and it brought a tear to my eye. They were the exact same plans I wanted to do. B series engine with a manual tranny swap.

I hate letting go of things. Maybe that's why I'm afraid to get too close.

I don't think it's a chick thing at all. I miss my Tacoma.....I even left some drunken ramblings about it on this site. My Tacoma was the most awesome vehicle I have ever owned and I'll be hard pressed to ever find a vehicle that I like as much. That truck was a part of me.

I have a lot of memories with my old 89 pickup too. After I went off to school (across the country), I left it behind, and eventually my brother bought it off me. Now he lives on the west coast as well, and going back and driving her brought back some memories. The truck is still the exact way I left her, including all the mods. It was my first vehicle, and I had many firsts with(in) it. The truck was always there for me, and never left me stranded.

Due to missing the truck so much, I recently picked up an 09 tacoma, which should be arriving next week. Can't wait!
