x2. I wanna do my bumper when I get the truck. We should get together and do it. You can get the factory spray paint online and make it look super nice. That's what I'm gonna do. The only thing is sanding the bumper. That takes awhile.

Yeah idk how much sand blasting is but if it's gonna be alot it's just better to sand it ourselves. Sand, prime, paint, clear coat, and then your good to go. Cheap, easy and easy to touch up too.

 

The duplicolor clear coat sucks. Some colors match alright, not perfect tho. I did my grill and decided not to do the bumper because i thought it would be harder to do a larger area and it would probably look like shit.

 

It's been 4 days, still no 4Runner, and I see my loan on the Tacoma is still active...

 

Kind of want to do my mirrors as well. We'll see. I have a laundry list of things todo that I've been putting off since April an MAy... Got lazy with the truck

 

Although the grille is right next to your factory paint, the bumper is below and split between the black plastic on top. Also the bumper will always be dirty

 

Got lazy haha. Well get with the picture now lol. Lets meet one weekend and paint parts. I'm down.

AJ, the duplicolor superwhite does not match at all, not even close. It's very yellow in comparison to the OEM paint. I tried a few brands and Paintscratch.com was the closest I could find (still wasn't close enough for me to do my own grille but I'm a little obsessive when it comes to color matching). Superwhite is hard to match out of a can.

 

I thought they were waiting to get it from another dealer.

 

That's messed up... do you at least have a loaner from them?

True, plus im not the best with a rattle can. Ive seen some spray bombed grills come alot nicer than mine

 

It's really the only way. I brought my truck to a local body shop (that I've been to previously with another vehicle ) so they knew me an they estimated me about $1200 for the mirrors, bumper, and grille at that time. If I parted them and brought them to the shop I bet it would have been a bit cheaper but still. WOW

 

They are, but they promised me Monday.

 

Whoa... I'll bet you could buy all the parts new and color matched for less.
