No, it is covered under my extended warranty. But thanks for setting up the good deal for people.

It is too bad this thread is so full of BS.

    Jason,

Just ordered a replacement blower motor for my '06 from your link/parts department. Im in Fort Lauderdale so Im sure Ill receive it quickly... as my blower went completely out (all speeds) unless I "tap" on it. I did compare prices online, and this was still the best deal I found.

As mentioned in many other threads, I also found the plug to the resistor was burnt. Rather than spend alot of time cleaning and reworking the undersized wire/terminal, I ordered the heavier gauged GM pigtail and will solder it in place. Hopefully this will eliminate the issue completely.

Just wanted to thank you for your help, which allowed me to save a little money...

And no problem on the link/deal, just trying to help my fellow Tacoma nuts out!:D

Today I went to the dealer (Quality Toyota, Corona, Ca.} for my last free oil change. I said "I am starting to hear a noise from the heator fan, a chirp...". He said, " I know all about it. I'll have it done while we're changing the oil." " It should have a part number that ends with 43, or I'll just wait till you do have it." I said. He called parts and they had the right part number.

    IT'S in and it's a done deal.

Thanks to all here at Tacoma World.

I installed 4 today. Haven't had one come back yet so I'm hopeful these are doing the trick. i don't care if it's making the noise or not. If they say it's noisy, I change it.....

I take it that this part number is bad after some time as well? My indicates Made In Vietnam, is there a Chinese version of the same part that has held up?

    Thanks.

The new part number that this thread was made for has not started to fail as of yet. I have installed them with no further issue. I have the new one in my truck for probably almost a year now with no noise what so ever.

I had the motor replaced in my 2011 and it was perfect. However, my 2013 on,y has 1100 miles on it and the blower is starting to make a slight noise. I figured they would have had these fixed.

You have to remember, each and every vehicle is different, personally speaking, yours is the first 2012 or newer i have heard of making any noise. But remember, just because it is making noise, doesnt mean that its directly related to it being the same issue as before. Now months down the road if more and more 2012 + up start doing it then i'm sure they will have another fix, but i wouldnt put your 2012 in the same catagory just yet.

Personally I would take it to the dealer and have them swap it. Don't bother waiting, it's under warranty make them replace it.

Let me resurrect this thread and ask for updates on the longevity of the -43 fan.
    How is it holding up?

ps: TRD parts center still has it for $100.30 + shipping.

I know for a fact that since this original post I made, this members fan is still quiet as I just worked on his truck today. I installed one on my truck not long after they came out and mine is still quiet. So I would say that after more than a year, they are holding up pretty good.

:dancingbacon: Just ordered mine! I can't believe I've been driving with a progressively worsening chirp for 7+ months.
