Indeed you did. Yet even with those wins, FSU still found a way to lose games they shouldn't and fail to raise to the lofty expectations of fans and media alike. I don't really care enough to argue about it. Even as a fan of the school, surely you don't think they've lived up to their hype, do you?

The funniest part of the Orange Bowl last night was when FSU fans taunted NIU with "Overrated" chants.

I'm really not trying to argue... Saying the SEC is shit b/c Clemson beat La State is a bit of a stretch, and that's what started it. Still, all I want now is the opinion of an FSU fan about why FSU seems to think it's still the championship-winning, Bowden-era team that it once was.

 

He said it because we lost as well. We are also the losingest program in SEC history.

 

Still... I was disappointed to see Northwestern beat y'all.

 

X2! State seems to me a lot like A&M last year, as in a lot of potential but never prepared to play and finish a game.

I expected the 2 miss teams to lose. LSU surprised me, but Clemson is a quality team. Noles, tell me again how many bcs bowls you guys have won in The last 12 years?

 

Ever think that maybe its because just about every other conference is sick of listening to you guys talk like the SEC is gods gift to football. yeah, it is a successful conference right now, but I am a firm believer that any team can beat any other team on any given day. Clearly seen with GT beating USC, Clemson comming out with a win. A&M beating bama, a few years ago when Appalachian beat michigan. (and louisville pulling the upset against florida tonight JK...would be funny tho) Any time another fan expresses thier joy with a win or sucessful season the only thing we hear is oh well your not in the SEC so it doesnt matter anyways.

As for my team...I cant stand it. Im incredibly happy for EJ to get his lazy ass off the field finally and have some new blood in there. He is horribly inconsistent and in all honesty cant throw the damn ball. He can never hit a receiver in stride, the only thing he can throw is a screen and a jump pass, thats it.

We have the potential to be great, we just lack a good leader on the team. I mean hell 12-2 season, who the hell can complain? But im sure there is some SEC fan somewhere saying it doesnt matter because were not in the SEC.....

I understand what your saying and your frustration. I never understood the conference bashing, but at the same time now that A&M is in the SEC I cheer for SEC teams not because I'm in love with the conference but because it benefits my school. The better the conference the more top recruits will want to come and the more money each SEC school will receive. Having said all that strength off schedule is a major factor to me when rating teams so in that way conferences do play a part.

 

And there is nothing wrong with wanting your conference to do well. I love to see ACC teams pull out wins in non conference games (except Miami)

 

Yeah, our defense played solid for a couple of quarters and the play calling was a hell of a lot better than most of our losses. Mullen got another defensive coach to call the plays yesterday. Hopefully there is some coaching change up soon or I don't see Mullen lasting much longer.

We didn't have much leadership on this years team, plenty of smack talk but nobody on the field acting as a leader. Hopefully that will change.

Yeah, I think it is because we have been playing ball a little longer though. If you look back though, we were damn good before WW2. Not sure why we sucked it up after the war though.

 

Actually, they have been playing five years longer. We are the losingest based on percentage and total games. Though they have more losses than us.

So I have my Oregon flag flying on my truck. Driving to work today I pulled next to a cop. He looks in his mirror and sees the flag briefly. Slows down, looks at it again and drives next to me. Shakes his head, gives me the finger and turns his lights on a few times at me. I think he doesn't like my flag
