2nd gen. Who here has pellet stoves

Hey guys I use 2 pellet stoves to heat my whole house and it is cheaper to buy pellets by the ton will our trucks hold a pallet of 1 ton pellets and be fine driving it about 20 miles?

 

I wouldn't do it... find yourself a nice little trailer.

 

Or a tundra lol lately it seems like my truck is getting to small for what I need it for

 

Get a Tundra and you'll pay out the rear on gasoline and it still won't be overly happy with a ton in the bed. I'd get a little trailer for the occassional heavy haul. I picked one up on Craigslist for $600 and it's a galvanized Load Rite trailer. Towing 2,000 lbs is no big deal, hauling it in the bed could cause some problems.

I have a pellet stove as a secondary heat source in my house. The hardware store where I buy my pellets from will deliver them for free locally, if you buy an entire 1 ton pallet from them.

It might be worth asking about delivery or check around at a couple different places to see if you can get free delivery and a comparable price on the pellets.

 

It will haul it the springs will be right on the stops and the truck will handle like nothing you have ever driven before but it will haul it. By the way it starts doing that at about 1100#

 

If it's stock, it'll do that at around 400 lbs... The stock leaf springs are junk!

 

Go with the trailer; it's what I use for firewood, in addition to loading the bed.

 

I haul 1 ton of corn all the time with no prob at all. Wasn't on the stops.

 

Sounds like you might be a moonshiner, with all that corn....

Make 2 or 3 trips. You're not going to be safe driving with that much weight in the bed of your truck. 21 miles isn't too bad.
