never had the STT's, but i voted them over the KM2's. i had a set of KM2's and they were horrible in snow, and chopped in like 5k miles... i like my duratracs alot!

I ran mine at 18-20 on the street. My 4runner was pretty light though. Never aired down in the dirt but they are a good all purpose tire.

Honestly I would not go km2s or stts. I'd got mt/r or duratracs. Or boggers lol :D

Trying to make the exact same decision myself. I had km2's on my frontier and hated them on road. They were loud and I seemed to get a lot of more vibration when I had those put on. Off road I believe they did great especially in water crossings. Im pretty set on the cooper's only because I havnt tried those yet.

Get Coopers... Cause everybody on this forum has KM2s or Duratracs...

    Be different.

I bought the ST Maxx a few days ago and they seem to be an excellent tire. 48 hours after I bought them I was driving in pouring rain and I tried to "test" them by being a little more aggressive leaving a few lights and around a few corners. They held on every time.

i've never heard anything bad about STT's.. and i've heard nothing but bad for KM2's. i've had KM2's and they wore out extremely quick. were TERRIBLE in snow/ice/slush. they were pretty quiet for as aggressive as they were and did well offroad. plus they look really good. but my vote would go for the cooper stt's.

Then you got a defective batch. Mine have 15k on 'em and are just now getting to 75% tread. I'd very surprised not to get at least 40k out of them.

i have 35k on my km2s and have 50% tread life left. They have been very durable for me!! Great in the mud and rocks, not sure about other terrain. I air them down to 12 psi about once a month to offroad and they do awesome. Ive even un-seated a tire while offroad, drove 2 miles on it, on the road with it un-seated from the rim, to a walmart and it aired right back up on the rim. That was 15k miles ago and have never had an air leak or anything. Ive been very impressed with these tires but i also picked them for the terrain that i drive on

coopers, hear the KM2's have super thin sidewalls. have a friend and he swears by the coopers, and they have gotten us out of some sticky situations

    There's a scientific approach

KM2 sidewalls are on par with anything in their pricerange, excepting maybe MT/R w/ Kevlar. If you want to step up, you need to move to Maxxis or Interco or Pitbull...another notch up in price range.
