Nice looking dogs! The one is a blue-nosed pit, yeah?

Maybe try them on a fattier food or one with a higher protein. My boy Roman, posted up there ^^, got a little lean on the food I had him on so I decided to switch the food. Read a lot of good things about grain-free so I decided to give it a try. Put him on Inova grain-free which has 30% protien. It's a little more spendy than other foods but he has done the best ever on it.. Fur is shiny, teeth are clean, tons of energy, he put on a few pounds but best of all is that with a higher quality food, you don't have to feed as much which equals less poop to pick up. If you do switch, be sure to do it over a week period starting with .25 new food with old food for a few days, then 50% and so on.

Here is a good site to do some research and my help answer your question: http://www.dogfoodadvisor.com/

I feed mine grain-free as well, less poop to pick up IMO!

People nowadays think of APBTs looking stocky with barrel torsos, but really they can have steep tucks that look like they're wearing a corset. The last couple ribs may always be visible unless the dog gets grossly obese, if you look up "BCS scores" you can read the descriptions for each score.

The pics you posted don't show their condition & structure clearly, but it looks to me like they have decent muscle mass and coverage of their spine, hips and shoulder blades. They look to be at a healthy weight. Some lines of pit bulls do tend to have really roached spines, so they will always have some spine showing, but that's a reflection of the dog's build and not of poor condition or owner neglect. If their bloodwork and fecal tests are clear then it may just be their build?

I do think people are generally used to seeing plump pets, or maybe dogs with different builds like Labs or Rotties. Then they call fit dogs "skinny."

Here is a super-educational site if you feel like nerding out:

The other two (cats) usually hide until these three are asleep.

Came home to a nasty letter on my door about my dog barking, and how I shoulndt leave them home alone while I am at work, and the coward that wrote the letter said I should take them to a kennel... We just moved into an apartment 5 days ago, and there are a ton of wild cats, and my small Westie hates cats and barks at them. On top of that, my dogs are totally freaked out about moving and being in a new place. Now we are keeping them in our bedroom at the apartment so they cant see outside, and hopefully they wont bark. Dont get me wrong, I dont want to bother my neighbors, but we have been there for 5 days, and of those 5 days, 4 of them we were home for, and the dogs dont bark when we are home.

Luckily, we only have 3 months here until our new house is built, and our neighbors will not be sharing any walls with us. Cant wait for that and a yard for my dogs finally.
