I got my appt in sept. it takes approx 30 days to approve after the first interview. Then approx another 60 days to get the live scan and go threw the coarse and qualify with the gun.

My buddy just got his and the whole process took approx 110 days total.

Looking for a pre 07 v8 tundra for my lady to dd/tow rig.

Any advice on which year is the best?

I read that 2000-03's had rust issues so I'm thinking 05 as it had the most power and had a 5spd auto.

I dont think rust issues are going to be an issue here in cali unless youre buying a rig that lived in snow areas or on the coast.

my 98 tacoma had some pretty bad rust issues and it was a west coast truck. I think it has more to do with the metal composites toyota used over enviormental elements. i could be wrong, i just read a recall on those years for rust reasons so thats why i mentioned it. Although all i'd have to do really is get down and look for signs so i'm not really that concerened about it.

If you're looking for towing, no question about it. 2005-2006.
Those are the only two years with VVT-i and a 5 speed tranny.

I just updated the thread. Only had about an hour to work on it today and got a chance to test fuel pressure, and it's 23 degree's in my garage right now so......
As I see it, fuel pump and filter are fine. If anything the fuel pressure is little high, but I'll attribute that to the larger than stock fuel pump. Could still be injectors or fuel pressure regulator. Fuck I don't know. I may give up and take it to someone.

I'm hoping Eric (Relentless) will have time this weekend to bring his 4runner by so i can swap a bunch of parts around and see if any of them fix the problem. Running out of patience
