Just so you know what I'm looking at and understand a little where I'm coming from here is the schematic. It is not a wiring diagram, and this is where my issue arises.

aaah i see how the wire goes in right between the sensor and light.. but it looks like the light feeds signal TO the switch.. eh.. it should still work to just jump the wire.. but you have that sensor and ECU to deal with.. hm.

Agreed too. Too much on the line for a blinking light. How about some electrical tape over the blinking light and call it a day? :D

use a small piece of tape over the light..paint the tape the color of the dash and it will blend in..just cut a small piece to cover the light and your all set:D

I have the problem of the passenger seatbelt chime / beep and light becoming enabled just from something heavy (a full backpack, etc.) on the seat. I was able to disable the chime thanks to the forum. I saw this on Toyota Nation forum and I thought it was brilliant (although I haven't tried it yet)....

They say get a seatbelt clip from a junkyard or buy a seatbelt extender and clip it in when needed. Weight will still be sensed, so airbag stays enabled, but the belt light should go out.

You can only turn them off in the access cab/regular cab, not in the double cab. I read it has to do with being able to place a baby seat in the back seat of the double cabs.

You could always just buckle the seatbelt across the empty seat and then put whatever you're carrying on the seat.

My vote is that the safest way to fix the light is to remove the bulb that way everything should function just fine.

Why would you rip your dash apart to REMOVE the light just because you occasionally carry something on your seat other than a passenger? Just fasten the seatbelt on the empty seat and be done with it.
