I broke the plastic piece that held the trailer wire harness in the metal bracket on the rear bumper. No damage to the wires but the plastic piece is busted and will not stay in the bracket now. I called Toyota and $245 for a replacement. any suggestions

Yeah - Super glue, black duct tape, try any local scrap or pull-a-part yards for the part.

Thanks guys for the suggestions. I ended up just replacing the busted plastic piece with a different set up. I just butt spliced the new unit in and relocated it to the tag light location. Out about $ 3.00 instead of the $245 from dealer

I did the same thing, except the metal piece it is attached to got bent severely and needs to be replaced. Anyone know where I can get replacements for both parts?

I did the same thing recently (July 2015). I found the replacement part online for $175.00. Too much in my opinion because the harness works fine. I don't need the entire setup (harness, bracket, plug). So, I think I will makeshift some kind of harness attachment.
