I wish I had that other key

Do you know what happens to get you "locked back in"?

I turned it into a drag car so I just ripped everything out. But if you have a volt meter check your starter wire while someone cranks it. Just to rule your starter out could still very well be the starter solenoid or relay. But the security is just another possibility and imop fits. But start with checking the voltage to the starter and the oms on the solenoid. Cause if its the security lock out may have to tow it to a mechanic depending on how mechanically inclined you are

I have a multimeter, but where is this stuff located? I'm not very learned in where this stuff is under the hood.

Trust me they're good. I've taken them off and on several times so sometime in that time frame you would think it would have worked had that been the issue.

He's saying whack the solenoid that's on the starter, although I wouldn't use a hammer directly on it. Put a piece of wood on it and tap that with your hammer.

The solenoid is just a big relay that is driven by an electromagnet. Sometimes they get stuck. We have a lift truck at work that once or twice a week we stick a hunk of wood onto it and give it a whack to make it start.

It's free to try it, so why not

It could be what happened to my Civic 2 days before someone was supposed to by it. A rodent chewed threw some wires in the engine wire harness. I was panicking, but luckily my neighbor was an electrician and help he fix it. You may want to check that.

There have been some small birds in the garage lately. Saw a few flying around in there yesterday trying to build a nest I guess.

    UPDATE:

Just got back from the dealer. It apparently doesn't seem to be a mechanical problem. They had the whole dash yanked out and some guy was fiddling around with wiring. The guy thinks there was a ground that isn't clicking somewhere.

Already out about $300 in labor alone.

Not my idea. Dad already had it towed to the dealer by the time I woke up. I did all I could yesterday though and nothing worked so its better than nothing.
