Can't say I recall that one.

Funny all these old places we try to recall but I bet most guys here can't remember back before the 52 went thru to Santee, that wasn't very long ago.

Going back to your days Doug was Rocky Home dairy, Bostonia ball room and the US Navy was still using sails iirc

The Lakesided hotel is probably THE biggest dive I've been to tho'..

Any given night you could kick ass or get your ass kicked, shit they had 2 homicides, one of them I knew the shooter (Ron Pinnell, now deceased) & the victim (Bobby Black RIP) Bartender was a dark haired gal that had fewer teeth than I do...

& I've been to Dumont's a dozen times or so when it was open...

Booooooo! Noticed rear dif was leaking at the seals yesterday. Took it to the dealer, they said the entire rear dif has to be resealed and it's gonna take several hours. Yay me. Thank god for warranties at least, I guess.

No, Jake, not my Taco. I actually don't frequent Eastbound. I like a quiet place. I go more often to the grill at Willowbrook golf course. They only have bottled beer but its nice and quiet and the only place I know locally that makes a good egg salad sandwich.

    LMAO!

I'll post a pic of my Taco in a bit. Going to take my dogs for a walk. We make a loop to TDS from the south.

No doubt lakeside hotel takes the cake for dives. Dumonts was just a place you simply didn't go unless invited for the most part. I went in there a few times with "family" that was welcome and I can't say I felt comfortable

I have not had their burgers but my daughter likes them. Here is a link to their website with a link to their menu. http://www.willowbrookgolfcourse.com/page3.html

I don't disagree. Good burgers, good carne asada tacos, and good breakfast too. It's just a little too loud for my cranky old ears. Haven't tried that new burger joint up the street, I think where Branded Oaks used to be.

Here is a, blurry, portside pic of my Taco, which my daughter calls the David Hasselhoff (?). Can you tell it's sporting new wheel bearings? ;)

Haha, yep, unless you know the owner, I knew Rick Dumont I met him thru a neighbor of mine when I lived in Klantee. He said "Come on by & check out my pub." So I did, went there a number of times never had a problem but I DID see a few that handled their problems out back...haha

No, sorry, I don't fish. It's just that sometimes with the fam and two dogs piled up in the truck, it feels like a boat!

I prefer a day hike any day over fishing. Went up to Bell Bluff on Wed. The PCT is a fav trail.
