I just purchased certified used 2012 double cab TRD with 3700 miles on the odometer. It has 2" lift with 285/65/18 nittos and monster XD wheels. The issue/OCD I am having is that the rear passenger tire sticks out about 1/4" to 1/2" further than the rear drivers side tire. I noticed this and it has been driving me insane. Is this really common in the 2012's? I have read on here that adjusting the bed is simple. I have checked the offset of each rear wheel and they are exact, ubolts are tight. Could this be anything else? Any input is appreciated and I looked forward to being a part of Tacoma World.

Most likely. Op check the gap between your cab and bed see if they are the same

Yeah, I read that as well. I am probably just being paranoid and need to adjust the bed. It drives straight as an arrow, I am going to check the bed alignment tomorrow

this offset could have occurred when the truck was lifted. if both sides of the rear axle were lifted together,(when the ubolts were loose) then any bump to the axle or even bed could have altered it. this and not measuring from hub to frame could be the problem. during the rear lift, my guess was that the axle was free floating from the frame, not being torqued down with the ubolts, that it got miss aligned. does that make sense?

to correct this, measure from hub to frame on each side of the axle to see if its off. if so, loosen ubolts, nudge axle back into alignment, and tighten ubolts back.

I dont see how the actual axle could shift unless it was like that before the lift. You might be right but the centering pin in the leaf springs should keep the axle centered.

It came with the 285/65/18 Nitto Terra Grapplers, they are surprisingly quiet

No wheel spacer, I removed both rear wheels to check the offsets of each wheel.

Almost can guarantee it lol. Try to find a point where you can measure from the frame to the bed accurately on both sides.

Did the first owner do a body lift also. That could explain the bed being off
